Vladimir Putin’s walk has changed in recent years and scientists believe they have found the worrying reason why
Vladimir Putin’s distinctive walk, marked by a rigid leg and immobile right arm, might stem from his KGB training, according to research findings.
Whilst his left arm moves naturally by his side, his right arm stays motionless – a characteristic that experts believe could be connected to weapons instruction he underwent during his Soviet KGB service, where he rose to lieutenant colonel before the USSR’s collapse.
Scientists from Portugal, Italy, and the Netherlands noted: “According to this manual, KGB operatives were instructed to keep their weapon in their right hand close to their chest and to move forward with one side, usually the left, presumably allowing subjects to draw the gun as quickly as possible when confronted with a foe.”
Former foreign secretary Lord David Owen suspects steroid usage due to notable alterations in Putin’s facial features, which might be down to muscle-building substances.
Speaking to Times Radio, Lord Owen remarked: “Look at his face, see how that has changed – he now has an oval face.”
He rejected theories about cosmetic procedures or Botox, declaring: “People who said, oh, it’s plastic surgery or Botox, I don’t believe that at all. He is on either anabolic steroids as a bodybuilder – and he is very proud of his muscles and strips to the waist and everything like that – or he’s on corticosteroids.
“If you’re on these drugs, this gives you this face. It reduces your immunity and makes you more vulnerable to Covid.
“This man has been in complete isolation, quite extraordinary, won’t see anybody, stays miles away, tremendous pressures. Which indicates he is on a steroid and probably, maybe, a combination of both.”
Lord Owen disclosed that anabolic steroids can amplify an individual’s hostility, reports the Express US.
This emerges as specialists fear the Covid-19 crisis deteriorated Vladimir Putin’s psychological wellbeing, sparking the suspicion which led to the assault on Ukraine.
Putin kept minimal interaction with people throughout the peak of the emergency over the last two years, with members of his close associates obliged to isolate before gaining permission for an audience.
Putin’s assertion that he sent troops into his tranquil neighbour’s land to protect citizens experiencing persecution and mass killing – for which no proof exists – has heightened worries about his mental health.
