Coronation Street could be bidding farewell to a beloved cobbles resident after nearly four decades on the ITV soap
Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ Sarah Platt’s future on the soap.
Sarah was born on screen back in 1987 and is now played by Tina O’Brien. Since her debut, the character has gone on to become one of the soap’s most iconic and beloved residents.
She has also played a big part in several dramatic storylines too over the years. From her dramatic teenage pregnancy to feuds on the cobbles – her time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama.

It’s also fair to say Sarah’s had her share of failed relationships too – including plenty of scandalous affairs and romances with bad boys. Currently, she is loved-up with bent copper Kit Green (Jacob Roberts).
However, on the soap this week, things took a dramatic turn for Sarah when she was threatened with a ‘sexual harassment’ complaint.
As fans will recall, Sarah had an important work meeting with client Eli whom Kit purposely made late by stopping and searching him.
At the meeting, Sarah did what she could to try and impress him – but when Kit showed up, Eli was fuming to realise his connection to Sarah. Sarah then ordered Kit out and locked Eli in the office so she could finish her pitch.
Later on though, Sarah was left shocked when she found out that Eli was planning to report her for sexual harassment, as revenge.
She confided in Kit who later issued a stern warning to Eli not to go forward with his claim. This was witnessed by Sarah’s brother and Kit’s enemy David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) who later persuaded Eli to file a harassment claim about him.
And in Wednesday’s episode (August 20) Kit was left livid to hear that Eli had gone through with it and was quickly ushered into a meeting with his boss. Sarah meanwhile, was not happy when she found out that Kit had gotten involved, but the pair later made up.
However, now fans fear that an exit is on the cards for Sarah. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person mused: “Is all this stuff with Eli leading to another exit for Sarah?”
Someone else added: “Yeah I think Eli will try and take both Kit and Sarah down.” Referring to Sarah’s mum Gail Platt’s (Helen Worth) recent exit, a third chimed in: “That or maybe she’ll take a break to go see Gail.”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX
