South Park fans spotted an easter egg featuring Jeff Bezos in Wednesday night’s episode, titled Sickofancy.

The third episode of the 27th season of the beloved animated series showcased a host of influential figures gathered in a gold-adorned room at the White House to present Donald Trump with gifts and compliments. Among these gift-givers were Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Eagle-eyed fans noticed the Amazon CEO waiting his turn to meet the president, depicted in the same manner as his initial appearance in Season 22. The big-brained billionaire first made his South Park debut in the 2018 episodes Unfulfilled and Bike Parade.

Jeffrey Bezos’ character had a two-episode storyline in Season 22, where he was portrayed as a menacing telepathic supervillain with an oversized brain, reminiscent of the Talosian aliens from the original 1965 Star Trek pilot episode.

Bezos’ inaugural appearance on the show satirised criticisms of Amazon’s working conditions. The plot revolves around Bezos striking a deal with Mayor McDaniels to establish an Amazon fulfilment centre in South Park.

Bezos communicates telepathically and eavesdrops on the townsfolk via their Amazon Echo devices, reports the Irish Star.

The billionaire CEO also commands Alexa to kill Kenny, whose recurring death is one of the series’ most enduring gags.

Viewers of the show immediately identified the large-headed, rosy-cheeked character resembling Jeff Bezos waiting in line to sing the president’s praises.

One Redditor commented: “U know damn well thats Jeff Bezos.” While another added: “Look up a pic of Jeff bezos, it’s pretty much exactly what he looks like.

“JEFF BEZOS APPEARENCE?” one fan queried, with another echoing, “BEZOS IS BACK BABY.”

The episode, packed with references, also paid tribute to Star Wars, and saw the return of Towelie, who journeys to a military-occupied Washington, D.C., to meet the president.

The episode continued its mockery of Donald Trump, introduced during the season premiere, portraying him with minuscule genitals and in a toxic relationship with Satan.

Following the airing of the episode, Comedy Central confirmed that the subsequent episodes will be broadcast bi-weekly rather than weekly. Episode 4 of South Park will air on Wednesday, September 3, and will be available for streaming the following day on Paramount+.
