A summit meeting between the Orange Manbaby and Mad Vlad is reportedly planned for the ‘coming days’ as Russian state TV show ’60 minutes’ discussed the likely outcome of it
A planned meeting between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin could end up playing into the Russia’s hands.
The Orange Manbaby and Mad Vlad could get together for the first time in four years to discuss peace talks in the ongoing war in Ukraine. The Kremlin said yesterday that talks are set for the “coming days”.
Joe Biden met Mad Vlad in Geneva back in June 2021 – the last time US and Russia leaders had come face-to-face. However, if a new summit does take place then there is likely to only be one winner, according to Russian state media at least.
TV show ’60 Minutes’ is presented by Olga Skabeeva – one of Mad Vlad’s favourite propagandists – and she opened a recent episode with: “President Putin confirmed that a meeting with Trump will happen.”
She went on: “The desire to meet was mutual. Both Moscow and Washington are interested in the normalisation of relations.”
After stating that the Russian stock markets reacted the news of a Putin-Trump summit by “climbing up 4.5%” Skabeeva stated that “experts were divided” in their predictions of how it will pan out.
She said: “Some believe that Putin is getting an opportunity to end up as a winner – without making any concessions.”
But the presenter claimed that any actual negotiations that may happen could take months. “Others think that even if the summit really does happen the real negotiations may stretch out for months. The two sides have diametrically opposed positions,” she said.
Mad Vlad dropped a hint at where the meeting could take place. He named the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as a potential location for a summit with Trump.
The Russian dictator said: “We have many friends who are willing to help us organise such events. One of our friends is the president of the United Arab Emirates.”
Mad Vlad’s words followed Trump praising of “highly productive” talks between US envoy Steve Witkoff and a top Kremlin chief in Moscow. “Everyone agrees this war must end,” Trump declared.
The Kremlin called the talks “constructive,” with Putin’s aide Yuri Ushakov saying both sides swapped “signals” on Ukraine, though details are hush-hush until Witkoff reports back. Zelenskyy, fresh off a call with Trump, admitted that Russia did seem “more inclined” to a ceasefire but warned against Russia’s trickery.
“The pressure’s working, but they mustn’t deceive us,” the Ukraine president warned. Trump’s set a Friday deadline for Russia to agree to peace or face hefty sanctions, including a 25% tariff on India for buying Russian oil, which will come in on August 27.
