Mike Tyson’s next opponent Floyd Mayweather has his own strip club, the Girl Collection, which has proven to be a problem in the unbeaten boxing legend holding down a girlfriend – even a dancer there
Mike Tyson’s next opponent and fellow boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has his own strip club in Las Vegas, which he admitted has caused him relationship problems in the past.
Girl Collection is a gentleman’s club that was established by Mayweather in 2017 and is a haunt for not your average clientele. The club has frequently been his go-to spot to celebrate his wins, including after his exhibition fight against Logan Paul in June 2021.
Mayweather’s bout against Paul marked his first return to the ring in three years. The non-scored bout seemingly sparked the fire back in the undefeated boxer as he enjoyed several more exhibition fights over the next couple of years, and he’ll take on Mike Tyson next year in a blockbuster showdown.
The club, which charges $50 for entry and $18 for a pint of beer, is located in central Las Vegas. It is just 5 minutes from the Mayweather Boxing Gym and roughly 20 minutes from Mayweather’s £8m super mansion.
Mayweather is a known strip club fanatic, and even struggled to hold down a girlfriend because he loved to visit them so much.
In 2020, he began dating the lead dancer at Girl Collection, Anna Monroe, and reportedly proposed to the 29-year-old just months into their relationship the following year. The two reportedly split up a few months later.
Commenting on why he opened the joint, he said: “I got into the business because I know that the breasts, vaginas, music and alcohol will never go out of style.”
But he said he hadn’t had a lap dance in 20 years, adding: “The last time I got a lap dance was 20 years ago.
“I don’t have to get a dance just because I own a strip club.”
On Friday, it was announced that Mayweather, 48, will fight former heavyweight world champion Tyson, 59, next year in a blockbuster fight between two legends of the ring.
Contracts have already been signed, and TMZ report that a spring showdown will be in the offing, by which time Mayweather will be 49 and Tyson will be approaching his 60th birthday.
Tyson, who confirmed the news on Instagram on Thursday night, sparked health concerns during a controversial fight that he lost to Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul last year.
Many fans were left underwhelmed by his performance in that bout as ‘Iron Mike’ struggled against his younger foe. Yet now he will face the man who retired unbeaten in a career that lasted nearly two decades.
‘Money’ Mayweather, who decided to hang up his gloves with a perfect 50-0 record, is still in top shape, while Tyson suffered a serious health scare in May 2024 due to a gastric ulcer, which resulted in a postponement of his bout with Paul, 28.
The clash between Tyson and Mayweather is being organised by CSI Sports/Fight Sports. An exact date and location for what will be a colossal box office attraction is not yet known.
