A’liya Johnson changed her name to Lady Safi while part of Kofi Offeh’s tribe, who lived in the remote Scottish wilderness believing they were fulfilling a 400-year-old prophecy

A young woman who fled a cult in a Scottish forest was chillingly cursed to “cry until she dies” by its deluded leader. Months later, A’liya Johnson was killed in a freak double road accident in the US.

The 20-year-old, flew to the UK from Oklahoma to become a so-called “handmaiden” to Kofi Offeh. The Ghanaian man, 42, bizarrely claims to be the Messiah and calls himself King Atehene. But just four months later, A’liya – who had renamed herself Lady Safi – turned her back on the tribe, slamming it a “false reality”. In explosive footage, she’s seen demanding her phone back and insisting on being called by her real name.

Offeh responded with a terrifying on-camera curse, saying: “We are done. She will cry until she dies. If this doesn’t happen, there is no God in Kubala.”

Months later, in January last year, A’liya was killed, first hit by a car and then struck by a bus in Oklahoma City, reports the Mail.

A’liya’s heartbroken family say she was vulnerable and struggled with mental health issues. But they could never have imagined her journey to “find herself” would end in such a tragic and twisted tale.

Now, concerns are growing for her replacement – another American woman also calling herself Lady Safi – who’s been camping in the woods with the so-called royal couple near Jedburgh, Scotland.

Her family back in Texas say they fear for her life, with mum Melba Whitehead blasting the cult, saying: “This cult is crazy. They pose a threat to everyone around them.”

Offeh, along with his self-declared “Queen Nandi” – Zimbabwean Jean Gasho, 42 – insists they are part of a lost African dynasty and now squat on private woodland behind a Scottish industrial estate.

The trio were hit with an eviction notice last week after ignoring court orders to leave. But they refused to budge, claiming: “No authority owns the land. The Earth belongs to the Father.”

At Jedburgh Sheriff Court, Judge Peter Patterson didn’t hold back – issuing an order for their “immediate extraction” from the forest, and awarding legal costs against them.

The landowners’ lawyer branded the group “unauthorised occupiers”, and confirmed they’re squatting on the land known as Darnic Parklands.

But Offeh is still defiant. Speaking from his soggy woodland camp, he said: “We are not afraid of jail. The Creator is with us. If we must go, the Creator will find us another place.”

When reporters broke the news of the eviction order at their forest lair, the trio laughed off the legal ruling – claiming they answer only to divine law.

Meanwhile, Gasho continues to praise their new “handmaiden”, boasting online that she “left her family and all she’s ever known” to serve King Atehene.
