Marcus Rashford has netted his first goal for Barcelona with a strike that left ‘the keeper with chance’ before quickly adding to his tally against Newcastle

Marcus Rashford has showed Manchester United what they’re missing with a Barcelona brace.

Rashford was back in the UK for the Catalan giants’ opening Champions League clash with Newcastle – and days after getting his first assist for Barcelona, he powered a header past Nick Pope for his first Barcelona goal.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Dion Dublin said: “I’m expecting Newcastle to defend that so much better.

“Jules Kounde goes round the outside and puts it in. He jus swings his left foot and Rashford comes from the edge of the box and glances it past the keeper. The keeper has no chance. It was far too simple.”

However, once back on the score sheet it wouldn’t take too long for the Red Devils loanee to get his second – this time it was from distance, dipping and weaving past a stranded Pope.

Michael Brown added: “Wow! Everybody’s been waiting for this young man to show us what he’s got. That is just totally unstoppable. It’s incredible, Marcus Rashford.

“He just gets a loose ball from Dan Burn, he’s on the edge of the box, he’s 22 yards out. Oh my word, he hits it with everything. It dips and bends and hits the bottom of the crossbar. What a strike.”

Rashford was cast aside by Ruben Amorim last winter, and again in the summer, but fans were quick to admit they’d love him back in the United side.

“Amorim are you watching? Get him back in January when Amorim gets sacked. OMG…the treble would be ours,” one fan, unaware that would be impossible for United, posted.

“All the Amorim out fans will be feasting on this Rashford performance,” a second sighed. While a third shared: “Amorim should be sacked on running Rashford out of town alone man. This is untenable!”

And another added: “Rashford is apparently not good enough for Amorim btw. Amorim, who is comfortably the worst coach in England at the moment. Lol…”
