Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, who finished runner-up on last year’s Strictly Come Dancing, has dished out some wisdom to to this year’s celebs competing on the BBC show
Tasha Ghouri has issued some advice to this year’s Strictly contestants.
The Love Island favourite dazzled in the ballroom on last year’s Strictly and finished runner-up to comedian Chris McCausland in the final. She’s now reflected on her Strictly journey and dished out some advice to this year’s celebs ahead of the Strictly launch on Saturday (September 20).
Tasha took to Instagram on Saturday with a heartfelt post full of snaps from her Strictly stint. Alongside the carousal she advised this year’s Strictly stars to “soak up every second” and embrace the “chaos” of rehearsing the moves for the live shows.
She wrote: “Can’t believe it’s been a whole year since my Strictly journey. Feels like yesterday I was stepping onto that dancefloor shaking with nerves and excitement!! What a ride it was and memories I’ll never ever forget [white heart emoji].”
Tasha added: “Good luck to this year’s line up. Soak up every second, laugh through the rehearsal chaos and remember it’s about the joy, not the perfection!! trust me.. the sparkle stays with you forever.”
It would seem that this year’s celebs already know all about the Strictly rehearsal “chaos” as they’ve been left a little bruised already by their first training sessions. Vicky Pattison admitted she must’ve looked exhausted as people in Leicester Square tried giving her some money.
Former Islander Dani Dyer-Bowen was clearly feeling the burn already as she asked her followers for their advice with her aches and pains. “Ok I’m going to need your help” she wrote on Instagram, with a question box titled “Sore feet remedies” and a snap of her high heels that she’s dancing in.
The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner took to his Instagram stories to write: “Absolutely CREAM CRACKERED!!!”. “Just got home from strictly training and my legs are burning! I’m really really enjoying dancing, in fact a lot more than what I thought an my partner is learning me some amazing stuff. They are a legend!”
Former England rugby ace Chris Robshaw shared a selfie of himself wearing a sweaty T-shirt. He was in good spirits despite the rigorous dance training, grinning and giving a thumbs up. “We’re getting there,” he wrote.
And former Lioness star Karen Carney posted a photo of herself posing in her dancing shoes, with the caption: “Bit different to football boots. What a week… long days but having so much fun!”
The other celebrities competing this year include Doctor Who actress Alex Kingston, EastEnders star Balvinder Sopal, model and CBBC actress Ellie Goldstein and podcast host George Clarke. Their joined by Gladiator star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, former footballers Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, singer La Voix, Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope and entertainment reporter Ross King.
Tasha, who danced with Aljaž Škorjanec on the show, previously told Daily Star that Strictly was a dream come true for her. She said: “I got to dance, which is something I’d wanted to do since I was a little girl.
“I was living the dream. I loved every single second. I made so many new friendships out of it as well. It changed my life. It was just such a great show.”
