Nutty Vladimir Putin poodle Vladimir Solovyov once again spouted propagandic nonsense, including laughing saying critics were “wrong not to love our Trump”. Speaking on his show, ‘Sunday Evening With Vladimir Solovyov’, the panel appeared to mock Trump and the time he mistakenly claimed to have brought about an end to the conflict between Azerbaijan and Albania.
An armistice between Azerbaijan and Armenia was established in August.
“Our Trumpushka is being mistreated,” Solvyov laughed, an apparent reference to the Russian slang term ‘babushka’, meaning grandmother.
In response to Solovyov’s comments about not ‘loving’ Trump, panel member Andrey Sidorov, the Dean of the School of World Politics at Lomonosov Moscow State University, said: “Listen, it’s not that I don’t love him, I fear him”.
In another strange twist, Solovyov also questioned ABC’s decision to suspend Jimmy Kimmel due to backlash over the host’s comments about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. Trump, who has called Kirk a “great American hero,” has applauded the move.
Kimmel’s suspension has prompted debate about free speech and government censorship and he has since had his show reinstated.
“America is moving away from its fundamental principles,” said Solovyov. “So the president didn’t like it, but why are employers starting to act this way?”
Solovyov is known for outlandish and downright barmy statements on his show, which critics say is no better than a mouthpiece for the Putin-controlled Kremlin regime. In the past, he has threatened the West with destruction, that the Ukrainian city of Odessa should have been blitzed with missiles during the visit of Boris Johnson and even suggested a radioactive tsunami should be unleashed on the UK.
In May this year, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) filed criminal charges against Solovyov over calling for repeated attacks on Ukraine with tactical nuclear weapons and other threats.
Today, Mad Vlad said that Moscow will adhere to nuclear arms limits for one more year under the last remaining nuclear pact with the US that expires in February, and he urged Washington to follow suit.
Putin said that the termination of the 2010 New Start treaty would have negative consequences for global stability and could fuel proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The New Start, signed by then US president Barack Obama and Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev, limits each country to no more than 1,550 deployed nuclear warheads and 700 deployed missiles and bombers.
Its looming expiration and the lack of dialogue on anchoring a successor deal have worried arms control advocates.
The pact also envisaged sweeping on-site inspections to verify compliance, but they have been dormant since 2020.
In February 2023, Putin suspended Moscow’s participation in the treaty, saying that Russia could not allow US inspections of its nuclear sites at a time when Washington and its Nato allies have openly declared Moscow’s defeat in Ukraine as their goal.
At the same time, Russia has emphasised that it was not withdrawing from the pact altogether and pledged to respect the caps on nuclear weapons set under the treaty and keep notifying the US about test launches of ballistic missiles.
Trump has said that he and Putin talked about nuclear weapons during their summit in Alaska last month.
