Fans were in hysterics at tonight’s Strictly Come Dancing as drag queen La Voix took to the dance floor to perform a jive to a Shakira hit along with pro partner, Aljaž
Strictly Come Dancing fans are “obsessed” with former RuPaul’s Drag Race star La Voix, who took to the dance floor long with pro Aljaž Škorjanec for the jive. The pair danced to Shakira for their jolly jive – but fans were more focussed on the antics off the floor.
After their performance, host Tess Daly showered the pair with praise for their efforts – but La Voix had other ideas. The performer made a comment to judge Tess Daly comparing her outfit to someone who works at Butlins, and it has left fans in stitches.
Over on X, @dreamydianne wrote: “not La Voix saying Tess used to work at Butlins, idk why but that’s really made me laugh.”
@simplyamyyxo added: “La Voix saying Tess looks like she works at Butlins and her not getting the joke,” and @scarterwriter said: “La Voix to Tess: “You must work at Butlins.” I could just tune in to Strictly for the pure comedy.”
Elsewhere on social media, people are sharing how much they “love” La Voix.
@IndeedItsMark wrote: “La Voix owning the floor, Tess and the judges in her own entertaining way! I have to say her comic timing and quips were hysterical! 19 undersells her.”
Strictly fan @scarterwriter said: “I think I’ve already fallen in love with La Voix. Hilarious!” While another simply claimed they were “obsessed”.
This week, the pair scored 19 from the judges, which will be combined with their scores last week of 24, which left them joint 5th.
Nobody was sent home during the first live show last week with it being the first week of the competition, so the first 2025 elimination is set to take place tomorrow night.
Contestants taking part on this year’s series of BBC Strictly Come Dancing includes West End and Love Island star Amber Davies who is paired up with professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin, former The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner is partnered with Amy Dowden, TV personality Vicky Pattison is dancing with Kai Widdington.
This year, a major change has been made in the way eliminations are decided. After a dance off, when the bottom couples perform again and face a judges vote, the deciding vote usually sat with head judge Shirley Ballas.
But now, the deciding vote will rotate weekly among the four judges. This means that one week Craig might have the final say, the next Motsi, and so on. But as always, if the first three judges are unanimous, the fourth judge doesn’t need to vote.
