Millions of Brits have been taking the jabs, but forums are littered with people saying their work and home lives have become torturous from trying to hold in “earth-shattering” wind.

Fat jab slimmers are suffering from horrifying toxic farts that are making them hell to live with.

Pharmacists have said they are constantly asked about the bothersome side effect they dub ‘Wegovy Wind.’

Following news of rival Mounjaro’s price hikes last month, many users are considering switching to Wegovy.

But one stinky side effect is that it causes more frequent and smellier than normal farts as the food sits in the stomach for longer.

Forums are littered with people saying their work and home lives have become torturous from trying to hold in “earth-shattering” wind.

Wegovy and Mounjaro have similar side effects, from sulphur burps to an upset stomach, which are all common and patients are made aware of before they start GLP-1 medication.

Weight loss experts at health tech company Numan said the gas was smellier than usual.

Danielle Brightman, registered pharmacist and Clinical Director, said: “Wegovy works by mimicking the hormone GLP-1, which slows down how quickly food leaves your stomach.

“Food sitting longer in the stomach and intestines can ferment more, producing extra gas.

“The drug also alters gut motility (the way your intestines contract), and this can make digestion slower or uneven, leading to bloating and trapped wind.”

Explaining why it smells worse than normal farts, Danielle added: “This is usually linked to how the medication slows digestion.

“Because food stays longer in the stomach and intestines, it can ferment more before being broken down, which increases both the amount and smell of gas.

“This effect can be stronger if meals are high in fat, fried, or contain sulphur-rich foods such as eggs, onions, or cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower.

“While often harmless, the odour can be bothersome.”

She suggested eating and drinking slowly, chewing well, avoiding fizzy drinks, not using straws as they can encourage the user to swallow air and avoiding chewing gum for the same reason.

Even wearing tight clothing could be a no-no as it puts pressure on the waist and stomach.

More than 1.6 million UK adults are now thought to be using GLP-1 medications for weight loss, with the vast majority doing so privately.
