Four UK bars named among the best 50 in the world – and they’re all in London

Condé Nast Traveller announced the 50 best bars in the world for 2025, including four bars from the UK – that can all be found in London

A fresh ranking revealed the 50 finest bars globally for 2025, with four of the top establishments situated in London. Leading the chart was Bar Leone in Hong Kong, with Mexico City’s Handshake Speakeasy securing second place, but you won’t need to search far down the list to spot the UK’s presence, reports the Express.

Claiming fifth position was Tayēr + Elementary, London, which was closely trailed in sixth by another London establishment, The Connaught. The ranking, recently published by Condé Nast Traveller, features two additional London-based venues, with Satan’s Whiskers at 21st place and Scarfes Bar at 31st.

New York also featured four times on the list, but surpassed London to earn the title of ‘mixology capital of the world’ in the complete 100, appearing eight times – whilst London’s tally rose to six. It’s simple to understand why these establishments have claimed top spots when examining Tripadvisor reviews.

One guest at Tayēr + Elementary commented: “Great experience! This is one of the best cocktail bars in the world. Friendly staff, nice service, awesome drinks, I will definitely comeback.”

Another patron remarked: “We went on a Tuesday so only Elementary was open (the front bar). Dog friendly and great service. The 4 cocktails we tried were very good considering they were bottled/on tap (pre made). “Balanced, strong, clean. Very good! The oysters stole the show. Get the oysters. Incredible.”

One guest of The Connaught penned: “As a guest of The Connaught it was such a treat to have The Connaught Bar as one of our spots for pre-dinner drinks or a night cap.”

They added: “Polished service, professional & knowledgeable servers, and a vibrant atmosphere. If you fancy yourself a proper martini, look no further.”

Another patron shared their experience: “We had a drink here after dinner. A top bar and a lovely space to end our evening. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is Chic, extravagant, and fascinating.”
