Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left fuming as they claimed a ‘deserving’ star was in the dance-off, with Ross King and Jowita Pryzstal being sent home

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left absolutely livid by the public vote results, after it was announced which two celebrities would be battling it out in the dance-off.

After Movie Week, it was confirmed that EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon would go head-to-head against Lorraine’s Ross King and Jowita Pryzstal.

Ross and Jowita returned to the floor to perform their Paso Doble to the theme from Thunderbirds Are Go once more, whilst Balvinder and Julian repeated their Foxtrot to Swing Time’s The Way You Look Tonight.

The choice of which celebrity would remain was placed in the hands of judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas, but viewers were absolutely raging that Balvinder had landed in the bottom two.

“Balvinder got snaked this week this is ridiculous,” one wrote, reports Kent Live.

Another said: “Wow am totally flabbergasted that Bal is in the dance off . It wasn’t perfect but not the worst dance of the night . Quite a shock to he honest.”

A third wrote: “No! Why tf is Bal in the dance off?”

Another said: “I’m heartbroken for Balvinder and Julian. Balvinder should not be in the Bottom 2. That’s what low scores do to a couple. She’s harshly underscored and now she’s in the bottom 2. Bal has some things to work on but she’s not as bad as some of the other couple.”

“Bal should not be in the dance off. Outrageous,” one fan wrote, as another shared: “It’s honestly atrocious that Bal is in the dance off…”

In last night’s show, Balvinder and Julian scored 26 points, higher than Vicky Pattison, Karen Carney, and Chris Robshaw.

Following their repeat dances, all four judges chose to save Balvinder, leaving Ross and Jowita eliminated.

When asked by Tess Daly about their time on the show, a tearful Ross King said: “I have loved every single minute of it.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted – they’ve been amazing. I want to thank everyone here in this room, backstage, the judges, the crew – every single person here has made me so, so welcome.

“And, I want to thank a very special lady who has been with me through it all and has been absolutely everything: she’s been a mentor, teacher, carer.”

As Jowita chimed in with “barista”, Ross went on: “I could not have wished for a better partner, and I could not have wished to be on a better show. Thank you judges for all your remarks.”

Sunday’s results show also featured a routine from Strictly’s Professional Dancers in tribute to the Minecraft movie, plus Nancy Xu and Kai Widdrington dancing to a performance from Lang Lang of Reflection from the film Mulan.

Thomas Skinner and Amy Dowden were the first pair to have been voted out last week, and the remaining 13 couples will take to the dancefloor next week with Stefan Dennis and Dianne Buswell hoping to make a comeback after missing last night’s show due to illness.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 18 October at 6:30pm, with the results show on Sunday 19 October at 7:15pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Both episodes from this weekend are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
