The line-up for this year’s Strictly Come Dancing is slowly being announced, but ex-footballer Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has already hit a snag.

The former Cardiff City player was one of three celebs revealed on The One Show earlier this week, joining the likes of Love Island’s Dani Dyer, Doctor Who’s Alex Kingston and model Ellie Goldstein among the 2025 line-up.

With three more names yet to be revealed for the 2025 roster, bookies are already taking bets on who’ll bag the coveted Glitterball trophy – and it’s not looking rosy for Jimmy.

Free Bets Casino reckons Dani is the one to watch, with odds of 4/1 that she’ll follow in the fancy footwork of last year’s champ, comedian Chris McCausland. Meanwhile, Jimmy’s languishing at the bottom of the pile with long odds of 25/1.

Hot on Dani’s heels is Ellie Goldstein, the trailblazing model and influencer whose casting has been met with applause. She’s been given odds of 5/1.

YouTube star George Clarke, not to be confused with the telly property guru, is placed at 6/1, while Gladiators’ Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, the first celeb announced for 2025, has odds of 8/1, reports Wales Online.

EastEnders’ Balvinder Sopal, drag queen La Voix and The Apprentice’s Thomas Skinner are all on odds of 12/1.

ER icon and Doctor Who alumna Alex Kingston has been given odds of 16/1, while former England rugby ace Chris Robshaw is just a smidge ahead of Jimmy with odds of 20/1.

Since the bookies started taking bets, more celebs have joined the line-up, including Neighbours stalwart Stefan Denis. The final batch of contestants for the 2025 series are set to be unveiled on Friday, August 15.

This news comes hot on the heels of snaps showing some of the stars arriving for their first day of rehearsals on Thursday, August 14. They were all grinning from ear to ear, including Jimmy.

Upon the announcement of his Strictly stint, he quipped: “Swapping the pitch for the ballroom is certainly not something I’ve done before but I’m looking forward to tackling a fun challenge. Bring on a new type of footwork with hopefully no own goals.”
