Aldi has revealed that more than 20 of its outlets will receive a makeover before the year draws to a close, marking the latest chapter in its mission to elevate the shopping experience for punters across the nation. From now until December, a pair of Aldi branches – one in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria, and another in Ebbw Vale, Wales – are set for substantial expansions.

An additional 21 outlets will benefit from various enhancements, featuring updated fittings, revamped floor plans and boosted eco-friendly elements.

These refurbishments are part of the discount chain’s continuous store improvement initiative, capitalising on the triumph of its initial upgrade scheme, which has already delivered modernised layouts, expanded space for fresh and chilled goods, and brighter, more spacious aisles to over 500 branches nationwide.

Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, commented: “Our investment into our store estate is part of our ongoing commitment to provide the very best shopping experience for our customers.

“By extending and refreshing our existing sites, we’re providing more sustainable and convenient stores, ensuring they continue to meet the needs of the communities they serve for years to come.”

The retailer is also pressing ahead with its bold expansion blueprint for 2025, with roughly 40 fresh store launches pencilled in across Britain this year alone – further boosting its reach for shoppers throughout the country.
