Adam Peaty’s family have been defended as a ‘normal, ordinary’ bunch amid the row surrounding his fiancée Holly Ramsay’s decision to snub his mother Caroline
Adam Peaty’s family have been championed as “a normal hard-working bunch” amid the explosive feud over his fiancée’s choice to exclude his mother. Sources have branded those supporting Holly Ramsay – including her followers – as “unedifying” for launching attacks on Adam’s relatives.
It was boldly claimed that Holly, a 25 year old model, had barred Caroline, 59, from her hen party because she “might have stuck out a bit”. Now insiders from Team Adam’s camp argue the family are simply “normal, ordinary” people who lack the clout or media connections that the Ramsay dynasty possesses
One source revealed: “It all seems rather unedifying for Team Ramsay to come out and throw around accusations about a normal, ordinary family like the Peatys. They (Ramsays) are able to look after themselves – they get the media, the fame game and have the staff in place to deal with these kinds of public feuds.
“The Peatys don’t. They are a normal hard-working bunch who have suddenly found themselves up against one of Britain’s richest and most influential families. It is all very sad, and there are two sides to every story. But you have to wonder if it’s a straight up-and-down case of Holly and Adam ditching his family.”
Caroline, a former nursery manager from the market town of Uttoxeter, Staffordshire, had originally been invited to the nuptials, it’s understood, reports the Mirror.
But the dispute is believed to have kicked off when Caroline bought a frock for the special day – only to be informed that Holly and Adam weren’t keen on her choice.
The couple allegedly offered to purchase an alternative outfit for her to wear, one that they would select themselves.
A shopping trip to Bath was arranged to find the replacement dress, but this plan collapsed following a recent stabbing incident in Cambridgeshire which led to train cancellations, preventing Caroline and her husband Mark from making the journey.
Caroline was subsequently excluded from the hen party, a swanky affair in Oxfordshire, and instead looked after her grandchild – from Adam’s previous relationship – at home.
This snub – along with being dropped from the wedding guest list – seems to have sparked fury amongst those in Caroline’s corner, the mum-of-four.
Yesterday, Adam’s aunt, Louise Williams, launched an attack on her in-laws via social media, posting: “The difference between me and a lot of people is that I’m not afraid to be disliked. I don’t give a f*** who you are supposed to be, think you are or who are you are connected to.”
The Daily Mail reports the Beckhams will attend the wedding next month at Bath Abbey, as the Ramsays and David’s clan have always been close.
One pal of Holly and Adam’s told the publication the family feud “smacks of the way Nicola Peltz has been accused of being the reason for Brooklyn Beckham cutting his parents off”.
