EXCLUSIVE: Donald Trump is facing mounting calls to release the full Epstein files in the wake of the latest bombshell revelations, but one expert fears he might take much more drastic action

Donald Trump could start a war with Venezuela or even “invade Canada” to divert attention from the latest bombshell revelations from dead paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s emails, a security expert said.

Epstein repeatedly mentioned the US President in emails to sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, released by Democrats the House Oversight Committee. He claimed Trump “knew about the girls” in one.

And in another, he said: “The dog that hasn’t barked is Trump. Virginia spent hours at my house with him, he has never once been mentioned.” The trove of messages sparked calls from sex trafficking accusers to “release the full Epstein files”.

But expert Professor Anthony Glees believes Trump is on the ropes and more likely to “do something extremely unpleasant somewhere in the world” to take the glare off his relationship with the disgraced financier.

Speaking exclusively to the Daily Star, he said: “Trump is a showman and he will be thinking of what might do the trick and get him off the hook.

“Following through with a war against Venezuela? Suggesting another summit with Putin? Ditching Zelensky? Invading Canada, Greenland, Scotland. You name it, this man in unpredictable in the extreme.”

Trump played down the of a US war with Venezuela earlier this month, but warned Nicolás Maduro’s days as the country’s president were numbered.

The US military has been building a fleet of fighter jets in the Caribbean Sea and a naval strike force centred around the USS Gerald R Ford – the world’s largest warship – was confirmed by the US Navy this week amid rising tensions between the two countries.

Prof Glees added: “There’s no doubt that since last night Trump is in deep doo-doo over the Epstein files and his big problem is that whatever he does, it will further tarnish his golden reputation.

“We here in the UK will worry that Trump is on the ropes and may do something extremely unpleasant somewhere in the world to take attention off Epstein and his documents and his past friendship with this repugnant man.

“We now know that Trump is alleged by Epstein to have ‘spent hours’ with Virginia Giuffre. This is smoking gun territory, in my opinion and devastating hard evidence. Yes, Giuffre and Trump both say he did ‘nothing inappropriate’ but what does that mean?

“What kinds of activities are ‘appropriate’ when a middle aged multimillionaire tv star and business tycoon meets a teenage girl who was being trafficked for sex by a man who was jailed for this?

“Frankly, the mind boggles not just because every adult knows what will have transpired but also because it went on for ‘hours’. That they were not discussing tariffs goes without saying.”

The Orange Manbaby wrote on his Truth social platform that Democrats “are trying to bring up the Jeffrey Epstein Hoax again because they’ll do anything at all to deflect on how badly they’ve done”.

But Prof Glees said: “Trump has said the Epstein files are a ‘hoax’ although what he means by this is unclear. But his admission of ‘hours’ spent with Giuffre is clearly not a hoax. There’s no getting away from that.”
