If you have one particular PlayStation 2 game lying around, you could be sitting on a small fortune – even though it was released to widespread ridicule

Collecting video games has become an expensive hobby among retro gaming enthusiasts – but that means there’s always a seller on the other end benefitting.

Certain games and consoles can command thousands of pounds from keen collectors, making some of the old games hidden away in cupboards or boxes very valuable indeed.

And with platforms such as eBay and Vinted offering free selling services, and high street retailers like CEX purchasing your old tech, you can actually earn a bit of cash.

As evidenced by the list below, this includes classic PlayStation 2 games, which can fetch a pretty penny, particularly if they’re in good condition and come with manuals. They don’t even have to be top-notch in terms of gameplay – as the highest earning title on the lsit proves.

At the time of writing, CEX is prepared to shell out between £285 to £572 for copies of the shooting game Gun Club, reports the Express. The flop, labelled “abysmal” by IGN and GameSpot, is worth £416 if boxed with a manual.

Horror game Kuon could net you as much as £508, while the action title Michigan: Report From Hell might bring in £380. Some lesser-known entries in the iconic Silent Hill series could also fetch a handy price.

Silent Hill: Shattered Memories could be worth £304 depending on its condition, while the triple-pack Silent Hill Collection carries a value of £169.

Meanwhile, you could rake in substantial sums by offloading titles such as Rule of Rose, Armored Core: Last Raven and Samurai Western.

For those who collected shoot-em-ups, games like Homura, Dragon Blaze and Gigawing Generations could fetch a tidy sum.

The prices listed below are accurate at the time of writing, but are subject to change based on supply and demand.

Similarly, the amount you receive will depend on the condition of the game.
