I’m A Celebrity fans have been left fuming after they were unable to vote for the first Bushtucker Trial of the series, with some claiming the app was not working for them

Fans of I’m A Celebrity were left seething after claiming they experienced glitches with the voting app during last night’s episode.

The ITV1 show, filmed Down Under, kicked off with five celebs soaring over a beach in a helicopter, which they then had to leap out of. The daring quintet were Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp, model Kelly Brook, rapper Aitch, comedian Eddie Kadi and former EastEnders actress Shona McGarty.

Next, they were tasked with navigating through a wooden structure filled with offal and slime to locate a key fob for their escape vehicle. Aitch, whose real name is Harrison Armstrong, and Kadi emerged victorious, and were rewarded with cocktails upon reaching their ride. Their less fortunate counterparts were relegated to the Cockie van, complete with an oversized beetle sculpture.

Meanwhile, the remaining campmates – Wax, Burtwistle, soap star Lisa Riley, TV presenter Jack Osbourne and sports broadcaster Alex Scott – missed out on the skydiving action, instead arriving at a plush villa before vying for a spot in the getaway car.

The challenge involved placing their heads inside boxes teeming with snakes and plunging their hands into a box of green ants to unscrew bolts and free the coveted car fob. Osbourne and Burtwistle aced the task, leaving Brook, Kemp, McGarty, Riley, Wax and Scott to join Kiosk Kev in the Cockie van.

Upon reaching camp, Jack rustled up a steak dinner complete with mushrooms and avocado for Eddie, Aitch and Angryginge, while the rest of the crew were left to munch on emu neck. However, as fans got the chance to vote for the inaugural Bushtucker trial of the series, some disgruntled viewers labelled the show a fix, claiming the voting app was malfunctioning.

One vexed viewer vented on X: “I’m a celebrity is a fix. Can’t vote cos the app doesn’t work.”

Another chimed in: “Would be nice if they sorted this app out, it didn’t work for a lot of people and we weren’t able to vote.”

A third queried: “Is anyone having issues with the voting app? Why isn’t it letting me vote? ?”

The first celebrities to brave an eating challenge on this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! will be comedian Ruby Wax and social media sensation Morgan Burtwistle, better known as Angryginge. Hosts Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly announced during Sunday’s premiere episode that the stomach-churning bushtucker trial would take place at the “revolting restaurant” The Divey.
