The Daily Star Chief Tipster reckons a Ben Pauling-trained hurdler looks a good thing at Wetherby while his nap is a confident choice to win a novice chase

PADDY O’MAHLER (2.39, nap) can jump his rivals into the ground at Wetherby on Wednesday.

The seven-year-old made a terrific chasing debut when failing by three-quarters of a length to see off the progressive Roe And Co.

He jumped like a natural and looks set to make a better chaser than hurdler.

His stable of Joel Parkinson and Sue Smith are in great form with eight winners in the past fortnight and with a run under his belt he is napped to win the Stuart Bolton Legacy Handicap Chase under Peter Kavanagh.

ONEWAYWEST (2.09) was a facile winner of a handicap at Warwick a week ago and gets to race off the same rating as it was a conditional riders race.

Young Elliott England gets the leg-up again and his 10lb claim should make a big difference in the Boyle Sports Home of the Early Payout Handicap Hurdle.

PIAFF BUBBLES (12.38) goes well at Wetherby and will be fitter for an excellent seasonal return at Hexham when he travelled strongly but just needed the race.

Rebecca Menzies’ nine-year-old gets the vote in the Wetherbyracing.co.uk Handicap Hurdle.

At Market Rasen C’EST DIFFERENT (1.55, trb) can continue the good run of Sam Thomas.

The five-year-old won twice in February when it was clear he was miles ahead of his rating.

He has risen in the weights but still gets looks nicely treated in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle.

MARSH WREN (2.25) is a talented mare and was last sighted winning the Listed Pertemps Network Bud Booth Chase 12 months ago.

She returns in the same race and is preferred to Paggane in what looks a good duel.

Phil Kirby has done wonders with DEVON SKIES (12.50) and the six-year-old mare can notch the hat-trick at the Lincolnshire track.

There are three all-weather cards and at Southwell this afternoon and T OR COFFEY (11.30) is well worth another chance.

INITIAL BLUE (2.33) has strong claims on his first start for Richard Newland and Jamie Insole and has slid down the weights.

PRINCE ACHILLE (3.30) loves it at Newcastle and can follow up his recent course victory while EMMA’S LETTER (4.30) should also take all the beating.

BELLE AMIE (6.45) and JUSTCALLMEPETE (7/15) look the strongest bets at Chelmsford.
