Speed lovers will be able to immerse themselves in a state-of-the-art Formula 1 simulator alongside 11 pals for arcade-style racing action.

F1 Box is a brand new concept for gamers keen on feeling the speed, thrill and adrenaline of an F1 racer without the fear of an actual crash.

It’ll open at Stratford Westfield in London’s East End this coming Friday and offers top-of-the-range simulation tech so players can take on each other in realistic track races on arcade game engines across big cinematic screens.

A first of its kind for Britain, you’ll be able to sit alongside up to 11 family or friends and battle it out on the asphalt to be crowned virtual F1 winner.

And you’ll get to celebrate on a podium at the end to rub their faces in it.

Each session lasts about 20 minutes including pre-race setup and commentary – with two five-minute races per session.

A spokeswoman for F1 Box, from the folks behind the popular F1 Arcade in London’ St Pauls, said: “F1 Box brings the energy and thrill of F1 sim racing to the streets and reaches new audiences in new formats.

“It’s a collective, competitive race experience wrapped in an impressive audio and visual production – where every moment is heightened with audiovisual stimulation to provoke the theatre and tension of a real race.

“The new venue includes twelve full-motion racing sims all going head to head with 4K screens and two back-to-back races in twenty-minute stints.”

She added: “F1 Box is not about mastering every track or clocking endless laps.

“It is about fast, dopamine-driven gameplay built for today’s social-first crowd.

“Expect reactive lighting and huge digital screens in an epic space.

“Arrive, race, flaunt your result, and move on.”

The makers said that what makes F1 Box different from the norm is its short, immersive, energetic race sessions designed for high-intensity game play.

Head-to-head competitive game racing will also bring pals and families together as they chase for the top spot and bragging rights.

There’s a leaderboard you’ll want to be aiming for and photo opportunities to take home and frame on the mantelpiece too.

“From the second you walk in, the countdown is on – it’s lights out, leaderboards up, game on,” she added

“Commentary fills the room, leaderboards update in real time and engines roar making it feel like a completely new experience to what we’re used to. Between races, names go up, podiums light up, and winners claim their spot.”.
