A woman has opened up about her ‘out of the ordinary’ wedding day, and the reaction to the photos has been anything but typical as she and her partner gave birth to twins
Lauren Kaye, a bride who endured vicious online trolling after her wedding photographs went viral with cruel bullies suggesting her partner resembles “a 10 year-old boy”, has triumphed over the digital harassment.
She and her partner Hannah were delighted to exchange vows last summer in a lovely private ceremony, but their happiness was marred by a torrent of vicious remarks and taunts from internet bullies – some even disgracefully branding Lauren a ‘paedophile’ because of Hannah’s young looks.
The 31-year-old woman dismissed these heartless comments as complete “madness”, declaring that 29-year-old Hannah is her perfect match. While the remarks are appalling, Lauren acknowledges her tough character, choosing to disregard the messages regardless of their shocking nature.
A handful of the slurs hurled at her on Instagram are sufficient to shock: “So sweet that you asked your son to walk you down the aisle, but shouldn’t he be in school?” and others mockingly quipping: “Happy for you and your little boy.”
Speaking to The Sun, Lauren kept her composure, explaining her approach to the hostility: “I take it with a pinch of salt, I ignore it. I am a very calm person and the comments online don’t bother me. It bothers me more when we go to a supermarket and people will look over Hannah and try to talk directly to me because they assume I’m the ‘mum'”, reports the Irish Mirror.
However, now the happy couple have welcomed two new babies. They’re proud parents to four-month-old Hettie and Nellie, the surviving two triplets, and Winnie, who would have been the third but tragically passed away in utero at 23 weeks and six days.
Lauren is also mum to a son, 11, and a nine-year-old daughter from a previous relationship. Lauren’s proposal in January 2024 led them down the aisle just seven months later at a Surrey registry office. Earlier this year they announced they were expecting following successful IVF treatment in Cyprus.
The pair sometimes encounter shoppers mistaking Hannah for the older brother, but they remain resilient.
She has experienced her share of confusion, repeatedly being mistaken for a young boy and frequently having to produce identification – for age-restricted deliveries and cinema visits. The situation has become so tiresome that she’s considering avoiding shops altogether.
“It does bother me being compared to a child when I’m with Lauren because of course that would make our relationship entirely inappropriate. Though I would always take being called a child over being called a paedophile,” Hannah remarked.
She highlighted that her clothing choices often attract unwelcome remarks, with detractors proposing a style overhaul to stop the taunts. Yet Hannah insists it’s the year 2025, and having a ‘butch partner’ isn’t particularly unusual, emphasising it’s nothing she should be forced to hide.
Regarding Lauren, Hannah’s new bride, she couldn’t be happier. The spark was immediate when they matched on Tinder two years ago.
