Coronation Street fans have ‘worked out’ Shona Platt’s real baby father but it’s not husband David.
Shona (Julia Goulding) has been a firm favourite with fans since her debut way back in 2016. And it’s fair to say she has played a part in several big storylines too over the years.
From a brain injury to almost getting murdered by her own son, Shona’s time in Weatherfield has not been short of drama. She is also a part of the iconic Platt family, after getting married to David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) in 2019.
However, in December last year, Shona shocked fans when she ended up sleeping with Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) amid a tense period in her relationship with David.
At the time, things were not good between Shona and Shona, after David gaslit her to stop her from reuniting with her estranged son Clayton (Callum Harrison) who killed his ex-wife Kylie (Paula Lane).
The truth eventually came out about Kit and Shona, and David and Shona managed to put what happened behind them. This week though, there was more drama in the Platt household.
David was left fuming to see that Carla (Alison King) had been dumping rubbish in his bin. However, when he came across a pregnancy test, he was intrigued.
Convinced it was Betsy Swain’s (Sydney Martin), David showed sister Sarah (Tina O’Brien). But when she suggested it might be Lily’s – who sick earlier on in the day – his glee turned to horror and he realised the seriousness of the situation.
Later on, Sarah told Shona about the pregnancy test and David’s reaction and she immediately looked guilty. Shona then eventually came clean to David and revealed it was her pregnancy twist, leaving David stunned.
But now, fans are certain the baby’s father isn’t actually David. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “I think there’s more to come with Shona’s pregnancy.”
Predicting Kit, someone else suggested: “I think Kit could be the dad, they might have slept together again since you never know.” A third agreed: “That’s true, plus Shona has had memory loss before hasn’t she because of the brain injury.”
