Coronation Street spoilers have provided a huge Becky Swain update and it’s not good news for Carla Connor

Coronation Street spoilers see more drama surrounding Becky Swain in next week’s episodes.

Only recently, Becky made a shocking return from the dead, leaving her ex-wife DS Lisa Swain utterly stunned. Lisa was taken aback when the wife she believed had been killed while on police duty in 2021 suddenly appeared in her living room on their daughter Betsy’s 18th birthday.

The unexpected reappearance of the ‘murdered’ Becky raises questions about what this means for Lisa and her new partner Carla Connor, and how Betsy will handle the revelation that the mother she thought had been dead for the past four years is actually alive.

In new spoilers for next week, it provides a huge Becky update and it’s bad news for Carla. In upcoming scenes, Becky reveals that she’s moving into a rented flat nearby.

Things go from bad to worse when Betsy suggests Lisa could help her move her stuff to which Lisa is forced to go along with it. As they wait in the car together, which has typically run out of fuel, Becky discusses Carla.

Meanwhile, Carla tells nephew Ryan Connor that she trusts Lisa implicitly, but when Ryan wonders if she trusts Becky to the same degree, Carla masks her unease over the situation.

As the week progresses, Becky quizzes daughter Betsy about the last four years, hoping to make up for lost time. However, Betsy soon gets upset and hurries away.

Later, when Becky calls, a furious Carla asserts that it would be best for everyone if she went back to playing dead… will Becky decide to leave her family alone or is she only getting started…

It comes as Becky star, Amy Cudden, teased her character’s reasons for being back on the cobbles: “Becky’s wife, Lisa, is about to get engaged and married to another woman, Carla. It was dangerous for Becky to return before, but her primary objective is to be with her wife and daughter.

“While there wasn’t a direct threat to that central family unit, she kept her distance. Now that Carla is a clear threat and Lisa and Carla are deeply in love, Becky feels she must return to try and reclaim her family even if that puts her at risk.”

She added: “I agree with fans who might be furious to see someone come in and disrupt one of the most beautiful on-screen relationships. It’s unconscionable, and they should be angry.

“However, it’s such a complicated relationship that other feelings will emerge as it unfolds. Things forged in fire only get stronger. Becky is a “spanner in the works,” but it doesn’t necessarily mean the worst, though it will be very difficult.

“Ultimately, this makes for really good TV and a fun, emotional, challenging, but rewarding journey for everyone. We want to give viewers a really good show; if everything was always wrapped up neatly, it wouldn’t be interesting. Come with us on this journey!”
