EXCLUSIVE: Coronation Street fans have seen actor Sam Aston play Chesney Brown on the ITV soap for over two decades.

Actor Sam Aston has shared his excitement as he takes to the stage for An Audience with Coronation Street, which recently saw one star tease an exciting soap cross over.

The ITV star, who has played Chesney Brown on the soap since 2003, is part of the UK tour, which is allowing fans to get up close and personal to some Corrie icons.

Ahead of the London show, which kicks off on Sunday (September 14), the 32-year-old touched on how he’s feeling ahead of the highly anticipated event.

In a clip exclusively shared by ITV studios ahead of tonight’s live tour, he said: “This is my West End debut! I’m absolutely buzzing to be fair. There’s a good buzz around the building and I think, yeah, we’re all excited!”

The actor also added that he was expecting to have some fun on the stage with his co-stars.

Another clip saw him continue: “We’ll have to see how it goes! I don’t think I’ll be too good at the quiz. But hopefully, there will be some good stories, some good laughs, and everybody enjoys themselves.”

On Sunday, Sam is joining his Coronation Street co-stars Jane Danson, who plays Leanne Battersby, and Patti Clare who portrays Mary Taylor on the show.

An Audience with Coronation Street is touring the UK this September and is being hosted by This Morning’s resident soap expert, Sharon Marshall.

Across each event, people will be given the chance to see five stars live on the stage, along with the surprise of a cobble legend.

A synopsis for the event reads: “In the first half, you’ll enjoy an intimate and lively chat with the cast as they share backstage gossip, funniest on-set moments, and personal stories about life in Weatherfield.

“Ever wondered what really goes on between takes? Or which co-stars are best mates off-screen? This is your chance to find out!”

Some of the cast members people can expect to see on the tour include the likes of Andrew Whyment, Jack P Shepherd, Jimmi Harkishin and Jodie Prenger.

Rob Mallard, Samia Longchambon and Simon Gregson are also confirmed to be on the tour.

Sadly, actress Vicky Myers, who plays Lisa Swain, is no longer able to attend due to schedule conflicts.

In a post, she said: “I’m so, so, sorry to miss the Glasgow show for An Audience with Coronation Street on 24th September. Due to unavoidable last-minute schedule changes, I won’t be able to be there.

“Every possible scheduling option was explored, however it was just not possible I’m afraid. This was completely out of my control.

“In my place I am delighted that the legend and utterly gorgeous ‘Sunshine Sue Devaney’ will be joining the line-up instead – she is going to be amazing – she IS amazing!”

Coronation Street is available to watch on ITVX.
