Coronation Street’s Lily Platt could be set for a pregnancy twist and fans ‘know’ her baby father

Coronation Street fans have predicted a shock pregnancy twist for Lily Platt and they know who the father is.

Lily (Grace Ashcroft-Gardner) was born in 2013 and is the daughter of David (Jack P. Shepherd) and the late Kylie (Paula Lane) who was murdered in 2016. And it’s fair to say the teen has been involved in plenty of drama on the ITV soap.

Especially last month, as she found herself running for her life after killer Mick Michaelis (Joe Layton) escaped prison and stormed Weatherfield High School to find his daughter Joanie Michaelis (Savannah Pennington.

But it seems history could be set to repeat itself as younger Lily might be set for a major pregnancy twist, in a similar fashion to her aunt Sarah (Tina O’Brien) in 2000.

In Monday’s episode (September 7) Lily told David she had a stomach ache, but he was sceptical and sent her to school. Later, when he moaned to Sarah about how Lily had been fighting over some lad and tried to skive off school, Sarah was concerned.

Then, David was left fuming to see that Carla’s (Alison King) had been dumping rubbish in his bin. However, when he came across a pregnancy test, he was intrigued.

Convinced it’s Betsy Swain’s (Sydney Martin), David showed Sarah, but when she suggested it might be Lily’s, his glee turned to horror and he realised the seriousness of the situation.

Now, amid speculation that Lily is pregnant, fans are certain they know who the father is – and it’s someone on the cobbles. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, reacting to Lily’s pregnancy bombshell one person wrote: “Not again this’ll be the 3rd time maybe even the 4th a teeanage pregnancy storyline has been played out.”

Someone else pointed out that Lily’s baby father could be one of Brody (Ryan Mulvey) thug friends who appeared on the soap last week, when they attempted to steal a car from the garage.

They wrote: “If it’s Lily’s I’d say the father is the lad that was hanging around with Brody the other week that tried to rob a car from Kevin.”

A third agreed and shared a photo of the character and wrote: “You might be onto something there.” Another also chimed in: “I remember him, he was trouble.” A fifth then declared: “I definitely think the test is for Lily.”
