Married at First Sight UK viewers may be doing a double take, as it turns out one bride has a number of TV credits to her name already
A fresh series of Married at First Sight UK is well underway, featuring more courageous singletons taking the plunge and tying the knot with complete strangers at the altar.
Amongst the newly ‘married’ duos are professional dancer Julia-Ruth, 29, and Marvel enthusiast musician Divarni, also 29.
Despite experiencing an immediate connection following their ceremony, the couple hit rocky waters during their Moroccan honeymoon, with Julia-Ruth voicing worries about her new husband’s height and serious demeanour.
Eagle-eyed viewers following the pair’s rocky romance might recognise Julia-Ruth, as she boasts an impressive television portfolio, including appearances on another reality dating programme.
In 2023, the bride featured on global matchmaking contest Are You the One? hosted by TV presenter Kamie Crawford, where 20 singletons are matched through algorithmic dating with prize money at stake.
During her stint, she discovered her “perfect match” in Australian contestant Brendan Mosca, with footage of their romance still visible on the MAFS UK participant’s social media accounts, though their romance eventually cooled and they separated once filming concluded.
Kiwi-born Julia-Ruth has also dabbled in acting, securing a role in New Zealand’s enduring medical soap opera Shortland Street, reports OK!
The drama follows life at a hospital, where the MAFS contestant portrayed guest character Hannah Drake in a steamy polyamorous plot line.
Her dancing career has also landed her significant TV exposure, and she’s worked with some big names. She’s previously performed alongside 50 Cent, and featured in music videos such as Bebe Rexha’s I’m The Drama.
She recently shared the stage with Little Mix star Leigh-Anne at Reading and Leeds Festivals, performances that were aired on the BBC.
