The London Mayor said he will not dignify Donald Trump’s comments on Sharia Law with a response, but suggested they were both ‘appalling’ and ‘bigoted’

Fuming Sadiq Khan has said he will not “dignify” Donald Trump’s “appalling” comments with a response, after the orange manbaby claimed London want to introduce Sharia Law.

The capital’s Mayor slammed the US President after he made the claims that politicians were trying to change the law system to Sharia rules.

Sharia is Islam’s legal system. It is derived from the Quran, Islam’s holy book, as well as the Sunnah and Hadith – the deeds and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad. Where an answer cannot be derived directly from these, religious scholars may give rulings as guidance on a particular topic or question.

Mr Khan’s office said the London leader will not be bothering to respond to the “appalling and bigoted comments” Trump made in New York last night.

Trump told the UN in a speech that “London wants to go to Sharia law” and said Britain is being led that way by a “terrible, terrible mayor”.

In an address to the United Nations General Assembly, Trump claimed the UN was “funding an assault on Western countries and their borders”.

He said: “Europe is in serious trouble.

“They have been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody’s ever seen before.”

Mr Trump went on: “I look at London, where you have a terrible mayor, terrible, terrible mayor, and it’s been changed, it’s been so changed.

“Now they want to go to Sharia law. But you are in a different country, you can’t do that.

“Both the immigration and their suicidal energy ideas will be the death of Western Europe if something isn’t done immediately. This cannot be sustained.”

A spokesperson for the London Mayor hit back when asked for comment, saying: “We are not going to dignify his appalling and bigoted comments with a response.

“London is the greatest city in the world, safer than major US cities, and we’re delighted to welcome the record number of US citizens moving here.”

Others also spoke out in defence of the Mayor.

Health Sec Wes Streeting took to social media to have his say, writing: “Sadiq Khan is not trying to impose sharia law on London.

“This is a mayor who marches with Pride, who stands up for difference of background and opinion, who’s focused on improving our transport, our air, our streets, our safety, our choices and chances.

“Proud he’s our mayor.”

Trump also attacked Britain on a number of other fronts in his speech, saying the UK had “given up their powerful edge” by making North Sea oil “so highly taxed that no developer, no oil company can go there” and slamming our green policies.

He said: “They have tremendous oil left and, more importantly, they have tremendous oil that hasn’t even been found yet.

“And what a tremendous asset for the United Kingdom, and I hope the Prime Minister’s listening because I told it to him three days in a row – that’s all he heard.

“I (also) want to stop seeing them ruining that beautiful Scottish and English countryside with windmills and massive solar panels that go seven miles by seven miles, taking away farmland.”
