Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to BBC screens next weekend, with the 15 celebrities taking part yet to be matched with their professional partners

Next weekend, BBC viewers will finally discover which professional dancers have been paired with this year’s Strictly Come Dancing celebrities.

The 15 famous faces participating have been teasing fans with glimpses of their rehearsal time in the studio on social media, sparking chatter among fans who noticed a significant change.

However, they’ve successfully kept their dance partners a secret, with all to be revealed in the pre-recorded launch show on 20 September.

Despite the contestants not yet having shown off their moves, one star has already received a disappointing prediction.

According to the latest odds from Betway, ITV’s showbiz reporter Ross King is trailing at the bottom of the predicted winners list with odds standing at 66/1, reports Wales Online.

In contrast, Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope, known for his role as Nicky Milligan on the soap, is currently the favourite with odds of 11/4 to win the show.

Close behind is Ellie Goldstein, whose chances of lifting the Glitterball trophy stand at 3/1, while Dani Dyer is pegged at 4/1.

Betway’s odds suggest that Ross isn’t the only celebrity unlikely to go far in the competition, with Steffan Dennis’ odds at 40/1 to win and Chris Robshaw’s at 50/1.

Ross was announced as part of this year’s line-up during an episode of Lorraine, where he was visibly moved by everyone’s reaction.

Speaking about his participation in Strictly Come Dancing, Ross King revealed to the BBC: “From the bright lights of Hollywood to the glittering ballroom – it’s a dream come true to be part of such an iconic show.

“I can’t wait to learn from the best, meet my fellow contestants, and, most importantly… try not to step on too many toes! Let’s give this the best that I can! As my mum always said: “You’ll never know till you give it a go!”

Despite being the current bookies’ favourite, Lewis Cope was a last-minute addition to the Strictly lineup following Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn’s withdrawal from the competition.

In a candid message to his supporters, Kristian revealed he was grappling with significant stress and some personal grief, leading to his decision to pull out of the show.

The Emmerdale actor Lewis Cope was then announced as his replacement during an appearance on The One Show, thrilling soap opera enthusiasts.

Discussing his involvement in the BBC programme, he commented: “I’m so excited to be swapping the Dales for the dance floor and joining this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. I’ve always been a fan of the show and cannot wait to get started!”

Strictly Come Dancing is back on iPlayer and BBC One from 6.40pm on Saturday September 20 2025.
