Police are investigating claims a well-known figure in English cricket spiked two women as well as sexually assaulting one of them. Cops have questioned the man, who is in his 40s and cannot be named for legal reasons, over what is alleged to have happened at a pub in south-west London in May.

The man was interviewed under caution by Scotland Yard on Thursday, June 5 about the alleged attack.

In a statement the Met Police said enquiries about the alleged incident are “ongoing” and “no arrests have been made”.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is understood to be aware of the probe into the claims.

It told the Daily Star it would not like to comment on the allegations because it is a “police matter”.

The allegations against the man follows two county cricket coaches being suspended over sexual misconduct over the past year.

In August, a coach was banned for nine months after admitting he sent sexually explicit pictures to two female junior members of staff.

The man attempted to kiss one of his victims in a club dressing room and he also sent three pictures of his penis to a junior colleague.

The Cricket Discipline Panel (CDC), which sanctioned the pervert over what he did, ruled his name should not be made public over “exceptional” health-related circumstances and a “serious risk of harm”.

In November, a coach was suspended by the (EWCB) for six months for “inappropriate sexual behaviour” towards a player in his team during a pre-season tour.

A CDC panel decided to not name the coach, player and team to protect them and described what he did as “serious”.

Evidence submitted to the panel included a call log between the coach and player, messages between the pair, and witness statements submitted by a team-mate.
