Married At First Sight UK fans have been left unimpressed by the latest episode

Fans of Married At First Sight UK are calling for a major shake-up to the show just weeks into the new series.

The popular E4 matchmaking programme has seen 18 singletons tie the knot with total strangers. True to form, the show has already delivered its fair share of drama in just a few weeks, with fiery rows and plenty of tears.

But as the newlyweds try to find their feet in their fresh marriages, a massive curveball has been thrown with three surprise couples joining the show. This comes tonight (October 6) as the original pairs face ‘in-laws week’, getting acquainted with each other’s friends and family, reports OK!

However, tonight’s episode has left viewers feeling underwhelmed, with some demanding a change to the schedule. They want more focus on the in-law drama and less on the new arrivals.

Venting on X, previously known as Twitter, one viewer grumbled: “We got new couples waaaaaay too quick this season.” Another quipped: “I didn’t realise these were the new couples I thought it was a Made in Chelsea preview hahaha.”

A third confessed: “I thought these were someone’s mates, then realised they’re the newbies.”

A fourth questioned: “Why are they putting in new couples. Deal with the couples you have #MAFSUK unless some of the old couples are leaving and the public don’t know yet.”

One person wrote: “Why more marriages? I wanna see the drama of the in-laws.” Another agreed, writing: “This episode is so unbelievably boring already.”

However, one viewer said: “Ooh, we get to see the intruders on their hen and stag nights. Feel like that’s new this series.”

Tonight’s episode saw Abigail and John exchange vows after their first encounter at the altar. Abi has never had a relationship beyond a year as she “won’t settle for anything less than she believes she would”.

In search of her ideal partner, she thinks it could be Flintshire’s own John, who describes himself as a hopeless romantic. The pair hit it off instantly when they met for the first time on tonight’s show, even earning approval from Abi’s mum.

The newlyweds are hopeful about their blossoming love as they prepare to jet off on their honeymoon. Tomorrow night’s episode will feature another couple tying the knot as the original pairs continue their journey during family and friends week.

MAFS UK continues tomorrow on E4.
