Pete Wicks has shared a sweet message to his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystal as he gushed over the professional dancer
Pete Wicks has once again shared his unwavering support for his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowita Przystal by sharing a heartfelt message.
The reality television personality and podcast host took part in the 2024 series of the BBC One dancing competition, where he was paired with professional dancer and 2022 Strictly champion, Jowita.
The pair reached the semi-final stage, just missing out on a place in the grand finale after being eliminated in the dance-off against eventual finalists Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Skorjanec.
Although they didn’t claim the coveted Glitterball trophy, the two have remained firm friends and continue to champion one another.
Pete made an appearance on Tuesday’s (October 7) instalment of ITV’s Lorraine to discuss his latest initiative What Makes a Man, which centres on men’s mental health awareness, reports Wales Online.
However, it wasn’t long before the conversation shifted to his Strictly experience when presenter Lorraine remarked: “Obviously you did Strictly last year with Jowita, and now she’s with Ross King.”
Pete interjected: “Yes, she’s got your guy.”
Lorraine went on: “Now Ross, the relief that he didn’t get out first. He was never going to get out first, he did himself proud. Do you have any advice or anything you would say to Ross?”
Pete seized the moment to deliver a touching tribute to his former dancing companion, responding: “Listen, he has got the best teacher in the world. Jowita is incredible and if she can drag me to the semi final, she can work miracles.”
He went on: “He’s starting in a better position than me, he is a better dancer than I was so all he has got to do is listen to Jowita and just embrace the experience. When will you ever get the chance to do something like this?”
Pete couldn’t resist offering encouragement to his mate, who’s also taking part in the programme, saying: “My best friend is doing it as well, Vicky Pattison. She is an incredible dancer and I think she is going to go all the way, mark my words.”
Lorraine backed his view as she responded: “I do as well, I agree with you. I think she is an incredible dancer but she just has to have more belief in herself because you can see she is nervous but it’s fine to be, you would be nervous.
“She is incredible and she is definitely one to watch, along with our Ross of course,” whilst Pete chimed in: “Of course.”
Jowita returned to the floor with her fresh celebrity partner, ITV presenter Ross King. The pair were unveiled as one of this year’s pairings during the pre-taped launch programme last month and made their debut performance last weekend.
Unfortunately, they managed just 10 out of a potential 40 points for their Cha Cha Cha to California Girls by Katy Perry, with Ross admitting during the second week that his self-assurance had taken a battering.
However, Ross and Jowita improved their tally, earning 15 for their waltz to Sunshine On Leith by The Proclaimers, bringing their combined total to 25.
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6.55pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer and Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX
