Piers Morgan’s son Spencer has revealed the Good Morning Britain presenter threatened to ‘cut him out of the will’ if he ever signed up for Love Island
Piers Morgan has threatened to disown his son if he ever signs up for Love Island.
The 60-year-old broadcaster is appalled at the thought of any of his offspring – sons Spencer, 30, Stanley, 26, and Albert, 23, plus daughter Elise, 13 – appearing on reality television, with Spencer revealing his father warned he would “cut him out of the will” if he agreed to participate.
Speaking to The Sun about which reality shows he’s been asked to do, Spencer said: “Most of them.
“I’ve been asked to do SAS, Celebs Go Dating – stuff like that. I’ve been asked for the last few years, but Dad said if I do any reality TV he will cut me out of the will. It’s always been the deal. I have to make the right choice on that one. I’m A Celebrity is the only one I’ve never been asked to do.”
Nevertheless, declining Love Island wasn’t particularly difficult for Spencer as he’s currently smitten with girlfriend Erica. He explained: “I’ve just been in talks, but I’ve got a girlfriend now.”
Piers has previously branded Love Island contestants as a “cretinous bunch of people”.
During an appearance on Good Morning Britain in 2017, he declared: “Do you know what? I watched one episode of Love Island yesterday, or the night before last… I have never watched a more cretinous bunch of people behaving in a more cretinous manner in my entire life.
“I don’t get it! I don’t get it! What is going on?”.
“They are the most stupid collection of people ever amassed in the history of the planet.”
Despite his reservations about his offspring participating in reality TV, Piers notably took part in the US celebrity edition of The Apprentice in 2008, hosted by Donald Trump.
Piers has also sat on the judging panel for both America’s Got Talent and Britain’s Got Talent.
