Former Strictly star James Jordan talked hitting co-star Brendan Cole with an ironing board backstage on tour – but says it was all in good fun as the pair reunited on stage
Former Strictly Come Dancing favourite James Jordan has confessed to some fiery backstage antics with fellow ex-pro Brendan Cole which involved an ironing board.
The pair, who are currently performing together on the Legends of the Dancefloor tour, recently shared a clip showing them playfully fighting in their dressing room, complete with mock punches and one surprising weapon of choice.
In the video, ex BBC pro Brendan can be seen laughing as James swings an ironing board his way, before the two collapse into fits of laughter. Brendan captioned the post: “Our pre-show workout… @jamesjordan1978 #legendstour @legendsdancefloor. Silly behaviour, very childish, we can’t help it, we love each other and this is how we have fun.”
Speaking exclusively to Daily Star in collaboration with Freebets.com, the home of the best betting sites, James admitted the chaos was all part of their friendship.
“Currently on the Legends tour, it’s very interesting. Did you see it? Where I hit him with the ironing board? It’s very fun!” he laughed.
The duo, who first danced side by side on Strictly more than a decade ago, say the reunion tour has been both emotional and exciting for fans and performers alike.
“It’s very nostalgic for the people who come to watch us, but it’s also so nostalgic for us,” James explained. “The fact that we used to be on Strictly together all those years ago, and now we’re back on stage selling out theatres all around the country – it’s amazing. It’s surreal, but we’re having a great time.”
And there’s good news for fans: the Legends of the Dancefloor tour has already been confirmed to return in 2026 with a Las Vegas theme. “It’s going to be really good fun,” James said.
Despite the mock battles, James insists the former Strictly pros are all closer than ever. When asked if there were ever any genuine rows behind the scenes, he said: “Do you know what, we all genuinely get on, which is what makes it so much fun as well.
“Everyone’s egos kind of left when we finished Strictly. We used to be more competitive back in the day, but now none of us have got anything to prove. We all support each other and help each other.”
The Legends of the Dancefloor tour continues to delight audiences around the UK, even if ironing boards need to be kept safely out of reach backstage.
