Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left less than impressed by a segment on Tuesday night’s show as they begged bosses to ‘ditch’ it

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left unimpressed as they pleaded with bosses to “get rid” of one specific It Takes Two segment.

Fleur East made her return to our screens presenting a fresh instalment of the Strictly spin-off programme on Tuesday (November 11) evening.

The presenter was accompanied by several Strictly contestants alongside their professional dancing partners as they chatted about their forthcoming routines.

Amongst the celebrities who featured on the programme was RuPaul’s Drag Race favourite La Voix with Aljaž Škorjanec, Emmerdale stars Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, plus football icon Karen Carney with Carlos Gu.

Yet it was one particular moment that got everyone chatting when Fleur unveiled the tracks that the remaining celebrities will be performing to on Saturday evening, reports Wales Online.

The television personality made her revelation during a feature called ‘Top of the Bops’. Fleur kicked off by declaring: “Welcome to It Takes Twos’ Top of the Bops. Tonight we will be announcing the songs that our couples will be dancing to on Saturday.”

She went on: “So in no particular order here is this week’s top eight. Straight in at eight, Lewis is hoping that his Tango to 12 to 12 by New York musician Somer will be right up your fifth avenue.

“At seven, Vicky will be dancing to Girls Aloud debut single and number one hit Sound Of The Underground and after topping the leader board, she is hoping for something kinda ooh with this Jive.”

The TV star continued: “Remaining at six, Saygrace’s contemporary take on the 1960s pop classic You Don’t Own ME – though Karen is hoping she owns her American Smooth on Saturday.

“Staying put at five, Amber and Nikita will be delivering the 9th Paso of the series to a powerful interpretation of Aerosmith’s hit Dream On. Meanwhile at four, La Voix’s couples choice will be set to Barbra Streisand’s Don’t Rain On My Parade.”

She revealed: “Now the moment you have all been waiting for, it’s the top three but again in no particular order. At three Alex and Johannes will be waltzing away to this..”

Barry Manilow’s Weekend in New England then filled the studio. Fleur added: “Alex is hoping that after a score of 30 at the weekend, she will have a rise and no fall with the Waltz.

“At two George and Alexis will be performing a Rumba to Lily Allen’s cover of Keane’s Somewhere Only We Know, which hit number one in 2013 after featuring in a festive ad.

“And claiming that number one spot is Bavinder and Julian, who will be dancing the American Smooth to My Guy by Mary Wells.”

Home viewers aren’t impressed with the segment and quickly took to social media to voice their displeasure.

One fan posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Top of the Bops doesn’t work. Please ditch it!” Another added: “Please get rid of Top of the Bops – it’s cr**. #ItTakesTwo.”

One fan, clearly delighted with the performance, chimed in: “What a great #ItTakesTwo tonight. I love that Lewis and Katya aren’t doing any tricks in their tango and making it just about their connection. #Strictly.”

Strictly It Takes Two airs weekdays from 6.30pm on BBC 2 and iPlayer and Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 6.55pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
