Strictly Come Dancing professional Amy Dowden has shared an update with her fans after she missed the live show on Saturday night
Strictly Come Dancing host Claudia Winkleman has expressed her heartfelt support for colleague Amy Dowden, following the professional dancer’s recent health announcement to fans.
Earlier this week, Amy disclosed she was facing another mastectomy, before offering her Instagram followers a reassuring update on Friday.
The 35-year-old Welsh dancing sensation received her cancer diagnosis in May 2023 after finding a lump in her breast whilst on honeymoon.
Amy shared a hospital snap earlier in the week, keeping her supporters informed about her medical journey.
She wrote: “Thank you for all the messages and love. Sorry, I’ve not replied to anyone (only just looked at my phone),” reports Wales Online.
“Surgery went well, and lots of sleep and resting up. Hubby and Family have been looking after me, and the besties have turned up with the goods, and nothing is stopping us from watching the Traitors…keeping the tradition going.”
The image showed Amy in her hospital bed, connected to medical equipment, whilst surrounded by caring relatives.
Come Saturday evening, Amy provided another update to her devoted followers, prompting an outpouring of support from her Strictly family.
Posting a cosy photo of herself relaxing on the sofa with a hot drink, she shared: “Home, resting up, still got my drain in but rrrrrready for the best entertainment and medicine there is for me….. @bbcstrictly good luck everyone. Cheering you all on from home! Lots of luck and love xxxxx.”
Claudia was quick to respond, filling Amy’s comment section with red heart emojis.
Joanne Clifton also sent the pro some love hearts, while Karen Carney said, “Sending so much love.”
One fan wrote, “Have a lovely and restful evening.”
Another person commented, “Sending love and healing hugs your way, Amy.
“The strongest person!! I hope you have a speedy recovery, gorgeous girl! sending so much love,” another added.
