Let’s be honest: there’s no better time of year to buy designer fashion than Black Friday.
Whether you’re after menswear or womenswear, it’s basically the only instance when you can shop high-end brands for less than the RRP.
But then comes the hard bit – since pretty much every retailer will have some sort of sales event on, there’s always an overwhelming number of products to go through if you want to find the best stuff on offer.
Luckily for you, I can help in that department. As a fashion stylist and writer who’s covered Black Friday for many years, I know exactly where to look. I’m well versed in rooting out the top discounts across the big-time brands and luxury retailers – and I nearly always end up copping a couple of things myself.
My top tip? Get your top-line wishlist ready before the event kicks off.
Aimlessly shopping for clothes is a waste of time – you’ll just end up scrolling through pages and pages of products before inevitably deciding you can’t find anything you like. If you’ve got a few pieces or brands in mind, though, you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for when the prices drop.
Then, when you’re shopping, always use the filters and sort by price. There’s nothing worse than spotting a good deal on a piece you love, only to find out it’s not available in your size or it’s still too expensive for your budget. That way, you’ll minimise your searching time and maximise your chances of securing something you want – and you’ll avoid impulse buying, too.
The good news? Though Black Friday 2025 isn’t until the end of November, some deals have already started to drop. The event seems to last longer and longer every year, so you can always find some sneaky discounts in the run up to the big day itself.
Keep scrolling for the best early Black Friday deals on designer labels below.
When is Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday always falls on the last Friday of November – the day after America celebrates Thanksgiving – which, this year, is Friday, November 28. The sales events usually start way earlier, though. Keep checking our Black Friday coverage to stay abreast of all the best discounts you can buy in the run up to the big day.
Are there early deals ahead of the main sale?
Yes! The deals drop earlier every year so it’s good practice to keep your eyes out for discounts now. That way, you definitely won’t miss out.
What Black Friday discounts can I expect?
The designer deals tend to fluctuate from year to year but most of the luxury multi-brand retailers have a Black Friday sale of sorts on – even if they don’t necessarily refer to it as ‘Black Friday’ – and usually you can get up to 50 per cent off. Keep checking back here because I’ll be updating this with all the best offers available as we get closer to kick off.
When does Black Friday end?
This one’s a little trickier to pinpoint. For most stores, Black Friday lasts until the end of Cyber Monday (which is always the Monday after Black Friday). Traditionally, this was the day when tech would experience further price cuts but it’s now more of a sales extension across the board.
Why is it called Black Friday?
The name originated in Philadelphia where the police force used it to describe the shopping chaos the day after Thanksgiving. Though it initially had negative connotations, the retail industry then gave it a positive twist – now, it’s meant to represent the day shops go from ‘in the red’ (a loss) to ‘in the black’ (a profit).
