Diana Areas was one of the most well-known nutritionists in the bodybuilding community, but has now tragically passed away after falling from her apartment block
A major star of the bodybuilding world has tragically died at the age of just 39. It is believed that she fell from her apartment building and was found dead soon afterwards.
Diana Areas had amassed a huge 200,000-strong following on social media as she walked bodybuilders all the way through their food and diet regimes. Sadly, it was confirmed on Thursday (November 13) that the star had since died in a shocking moment to the community.
The lifestyle influencer’s death was confirmed by emergency services who attended the scene. She was raced to hospital and had been described as being in a “moderate condition” before she fled the hospital and ultimately passed.
According to the Sun, authorities were alerted to an incident taking place at the complex in Rio de Janeiro at around 6:30am local time on Thursday. There, they found Diana, known online as Diana Areas Nutri, outside the building, with cuts on her body.
Concerned for her welfare, the local fire department raced Diana to hospital, where doctors deemed her to be in a “moderate condition”, and began to treat her injuries. However, she then allegedly ran away from the hospital without being discharged by doctors.
She was later seen running back to her apartment complex a short time afterwards. But as police returned to her home, she was later found dead in the communal area of her building.
Living in the luxurious Jardim Maria de Queiroz neighbourhood of Rio, police opened an investigation into the circumstances surrounding mum-of-two Diana’s strange death. The Civil Police of the Campos dos Goytacazes is now spearheading the probe into what happened to the nutritionist, but no more information has been made public.
Following a post-mortem examination, Diana’s remains were later released to Diana’s family by the Forensic Medical Institute. Local media are reporting that the Instagram star is set to be buried close to the family home in the city of Bom Jesus do Norte.
Diana was a well-respected member of the bodybuilding community, helping to bring positivity and strength to help those looking to tone themselves. She would often upload different daily workouts, as well as different ways to eat and live healthily, as well as giving beauty tips.
Additionally, she had a sporty streak inside of her and was already known in her native Brazil, having competed as a professional athlete. During her time as a bodybuilder, she bagged an impressive award, taking home the top prize in the Wellness and Fitness category at the 2023 IFBB Elite Pro South American Championships.
Beaming with pride at the announcement, she posted to her Instagram after winning: “Even with all the heavy hours of work as a nutritionist, mother of two I had to combine two hours of training, plus 60 to 90min of cardio in a high calorie deficit to bring in very good fitness. I definitely only managed to get ready in the week, bus as good as the previous version and with the direction of my coach the result was VICTORIOUS!”
Since her passing, her fans have flooded social media with tributes, with one fan writing: “Today our profession loses a great nutritionist. A woman who left a mark on the lives of many through the care, knowledge and affection with which she did her work.”
