Kelly Brook landed in Australia to seemingly take part in the new series of I’m A Celebrity but claimed she was just there to see her “auntie Sheila”

The first star of the new series of I’m A Celebrity has been seemingly confirmed as they landed in Australia – and claimed they were visiting their “auntie Sheila”.

Kelly Brook flew into Australia today to take part on I’m A Celebrity, declaring: “I am going to miss my dog Teddy, my husband Jeremy, and my food in general.”

The star, 45, arrived at Brisbane Airport ahead of the ITV show starting next Sunday.

And she joked: “I haven’t seen my auntie Sheila for a long time so I can’t wait to see her, and I’m so excited that you’re all so excited for me.”

Asked about how she is with creepy-crawlies, Kelly joked there might be some in her “relative’s” garden and added: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m visiting a distant cousin.

“I’m looking forward to surfing. Like I said, I’m looking forward to seeing my distant cousin that I’ve not seen for a long, long time… the koalas and the kangaroos.“So much to look forward to.”Asked about sleeping under the stars, she replied: “I’m hoping that I’ve got a spare room. I’m not sure about that.”She said she is an “Australian sunset” in her yellow and orange dress – before being covered by an umbrella from light rain. She joked: “Is it raining? Wherever I go I take the weather with me.”

Her decision to head into the jungle is a U-turn on previous comments back in 2018 when she said there would be “a million” things she would rather do than do the show.

Speaking previously, she said: “I don’t want to eat eyeballs or sheep testicles and all the things they have to eat on there.

“Even if I had a huge tax bill and I had to pay it really urgently, I still wouldn’t do it.”

In 2022 in another interview she insisted she still wasn’t keen. She said: “It’s never appealed to me. It’s never ever ever appealed to me. Like Mark Wright asks me at work if I would ever do it and I just couldn’t think of anything worse. But he loved it, for him, he just absolutely loved I’m A Celebrity, and it opened up so many doors for him and gave him so many opportunities. He also has some really great memories from doing it.”

Other celebs flying Down Under include Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, ex-model Kelly Brook, ex-EastEnder Shona McGarty, YouTuber Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge, musician Martin Kemp, comedian Ruby Wax, TV presenter Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne. They are expected to be joined by comedian Eddie Kadi, rapper Aitch, and presenter Vogue Williams.

ITV are set to formally announce the line-up next week. Two names will be missing from the announcement as they are expected to enter the jungle as latecomers.

Ant and Dec are returning to host the hit series, which is in its 25th year.

A source close to the show said: “Producers are expected to pull out the stops to ensure the 25th series is the most memorable yet.”
