The former boss of Lloyd’s of London has lost out on his next job after an alleged affair with a colleague while at the insurance market.
John Neal was due to join AIG – one of the world’s largest insurers – as president of its American operations next month.
But AIG said he would no longer be joining ‘due to personal circumstances’.
Neal led Lloyd’s for six years before standing down in January.
The firm has since probed his relationship with Rebekah Clement, who was director of corporate affairs before being promoted by Neal.
