Ant and Dec have taken a moment to send a special message ahead of this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

Over the next few weeks, ITV viewers will be treated to the sight of celebrities such as Roman Kemp, Kelly Brook, and Lisa Riley braving the jungle in this year’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!

While fans eagerly await the arrival of new stars in the camp, following the release of the full line-up earlier this week, they can also look forward to the return of familiar faces Ant and Dec.

The popular duo have been a staple of the beloved series since its inception in 2002, presiding over the nerve-wracking Bushtucker trials.

However, before the hilarity and chaos of jungle life commences, the Geordie pair have taken a moment to send a special message to BBC star Sara Cox.

Sara is currently participating in the Great Northern Marathon Challenge to raise funds for Children in Need, reports the Express.

She will cover a total of 135 miles on foot, traversing four counties – Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire, and West Yorkshire – a distance equivalent to five marathons over five days.

At the time of writing, the radio star has raised an impressive total of £2,680,747.

Many celebrities have taken the time to wish Sara luck on her monumental challenge, including Ant and Dec, who sent a message from halfway around the world.

In a video message shared on BBC Radio 2’s Instagram, Dec says: “Hello Coxy. It’s Ant and Dec here! We are in Australia, but news has reached us of the amazing job you are doing.”

Ant enthused: “Yeah! We have heard that you are doing a fantastic job. Keep up the good work and very best of luck and lots of love.”

Wrapping up their message, Dec added: “Loads of love. Keep it up!”.

During her gruelling challenge, Sara received an unexpected boost when her sister Dot and other relatives appeared on day four.

Reflecting on the heartwarming moment, an elated Sara remarked: “That was a lovely surprise. I thought, we need better security – who is this running towards me?”

“That was perfectly timed, just as soon as I’m starting to hurt. Pain’s really tiring. It was a real boost, thank you so much!”.

A BBC television crew is documenting Sara’s entire journey for an exclusive behind-the-scenes appeal programme.

Sara Cox: Every Step of the Way for Children in Need, which broadcasts on BBC One on 19th November at 8pm.
