The third star set to appear in this years I’m a Celebrity jungle has just landed in Australia as the show is set to kick off next week – and she has one major request
Eastenders actress Shona McGarty became the third star to arrive in Australia today to take part on I’m A Celebrity.
The 34-year-old, arrived at Brisbane Airport ahead of the ITV show starting next Sunday. She joked: “I got on the wrong flight. I thought it said Austria. I’m gonna have to ask for directions back now.” Asked what she was going to miss about the UK, she replied: “Not a lot. I really want to see a kangaroo. I’ve never seen one in my life.”
Earlier in the day Kelly Brook had been all smiles after she touched down. And she joked: “I haven’t seen my auntie Sheila for a long time so I can’t wait to see her, and I’m so excited that you’re all so excited for me.”
Asked about how she is with creepy-crawlies, Kelly joked there might be some in her “relative’s” garden and added: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I’m visiting a distant cousin.
“I’m looking forward to surfing. Like I said, I’m looking forward to seeing my distant cousin that I’ve not seen for a long, long time… the koalas and the kangaroos. So much to look forward to.”
Other celebs flying Down Under include Emmerdale’s Lisa Riley, YouTuber Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge, musician Martin Kemp, comedian Ruby Wax, TV presenter Alex Scott and Jack Osbourne. They are expected to be joined by comedian Eddie Kadi, rapper Aitch, and presenter Vogue Williams.
ITV are set to formally announce the line-up next week. Two names will be missing from the announcement as they are expected to enter the jungle as latecomers.
Ant and Dec are returning to host the hit series, which is in its 25th year.
A source close to the show said: “Producers are expected to pull out the stops to ensure the 25th series is the most memorable yet.”
There has been fervent speculation as to the line-up in recent weeks. The Mirror revealed at the weekend how Nick Ferrari pulled out of talks with ITV to join I’m a Celebrity after his radio bosses vowed to match his lucrative jungle fee.
The LBC star was wooed by show chiefs during what insiders say were “really productive conversations.”
But sources claim that after Ferrari mentioned the plans to his bosses at Global, they begged him to reconsider.
A source said: “They pledged to match any fee he was set to receive as they consider him such a vital and well-loved part of the LBC schedule.”
