Dakota Taylor has been arrested in connection with the death of her two infant sons who both died before they reached 12-months old just over three years apart, according to authorities
A mum has been arrested for the murders of her two infant sons who died just over three years apart, police say. Investigators began to grow suspicious of 21-year-old Dakota Taylor’s heartless behaviour. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) launched a probe into Taylor after police officers noted her sickening behaviour at the scenes of her children’s deaths – where she acted “nonchalant”.
Taylor, from Georgia, has been charged with felony murder, cruelty to children and malice murder for the deaths of her seven-month-old son Micah in September 2021 and her eight-month-old son Caleb in January 2025.
Taylor was arrested on Thursday (November 20) for her role in Caleb’s death after investigators claimed she allegedly deprived him of oxygen by causing excessive physical and mental pain.
“[Taylor] unlawfully and with malice aforethought, deliberately caused the death of Caleb,” the document stated.
Investigators say that on the day of Caleb’s death Taylor brought him to a family member’s house but chillingly kept his head covered. Taylor blocked them from seeing the baby, but eventually the relative managed to remove the diaper that was partially covering him and found his lips were blue, according to reports.
Caleb was then taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. After the baby’s tragic death, investigators learned it was not the first time that one of Taylor’s young children had died.
The mum had also been charged in Jefferson County with her first son Micah’s death after authorities said she obstructed his airways “with malice and forethought”.
In 2021, Taylor and her son lived at a Georgia Department of Family and Children Services group home. An employee at the home informed investigators that Taylor fed Micah a bottle before bathing him.
Taylor then placed Micah in a swing, but the employee noticed the baby was slumped over so began CPR and called for police but when cops arrived the child was dead.
Body camera footage showed that officers found Taylor’s behaviour was very unusual after the baby was found to be dead.
“I don’t know if this has anything to do with anything, but the mother, didn’t… She was very.. Like “alright, whatever.” And I was like your baby is,” one officer said.
Authorities stated that she was being held at the McDuffie County Jail last year, however records indicate she has since been released. It is unclear if she is currently being held as of today (Tuesday, November 25).
