Dad-of-one Bartosz Urbaniak, 29, plunged to the ground at the Big Weekender event at the Skegness Butlins site after reportedly trying to climb from one balcony to another

A man tragically lost his life after falling from a balcony at a popular holiday park. Bartosz Urbaniak, 29, sustained severe brain trauma after plummeting to the ground during the Big Weekender event at Skegness Butlins. Eyewitnesses allege that the father-of-one attempted to scale from one balcony to another before his fatal fall after reportedly losing his footing.

A trainee nurse present at the event immediately administered CPR until an air ambulance arrived at the scene of the incident, which happened at around 12.15pm on September 28.

He was swiftly transported to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham but, despite the best efforts of medical staff, he sadly passed away two days later. His girlfriend subsequently shared a heartfelt tribute to Bartosz, whom she characterised as possessing “the biggest heart and soul”.

She said: “Saying goodbye to you for the very last time was something I never imagined I’d have to do. You had the biggest heart and a soul far too kind for this world. Please watch over Layton, he’s your mirror, your legacy, and he carries your light in everything he does.”, reports the Mirror.

“Until we meet again, know that you’ll always be loved, missed, and remembered. Life will never be the same without you, but we’ll keep your memory alive and make you proud. Fly high, my love.”

It comes after a dad-of-two tragically died on holiday in the Canary Islands after plummeting 20 feet when a hotel balcony railing collapsed.

Darren Silcox, a well-regarded 56-year-old shopkeeper from Cwmbran in Wales, was one of two men who tumbled from the balcony in Lanzarote during the early hours of October 25 after the bannister rail allegedly snapped.

Mr Silcox had travelled to the Costa Tequise resort where he and a mate were on the balcony when the safety barrier reportedly gave way. He died from his injuries while the other man, aged 54, was rushed to hospital with serious wounds.

The heartbreaking news left customers at his two shops in Pontnewydd and Five Locks in disbelief.

One customer said: “This is terrible. It is a family store and everyone knows them – what a shocking way to go. He was always very hard working.”

While another added: “They have two sons who are now left without parents. It is tragic.”
