BBC fans saw Vicky Pattison leave Strictly Come Dancing over the weekend as she became the latest eliminated star.

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left puzzled about Vicky Pattison’s whereabouts when they switched on It Takes Two on Monday night, just one day after her elimination from the BBC programme.

Typically, the recently axed celebrity makes an appearance on the companion show alongside their professional partner to discuss their journey on the series.

But as Monday’s episode began, host Fleur East announced that Strictly Come Dancing’s Vicky would be appearing later in the week instead.

She explained: “This weekend we sadly said goodbye to Vicky and Kai. They can’t be with us tonight but will be joining us later on in the week.”

Viewers quickly flocked to social media to express their bewilderment over the scheduling shake-up, reports Wales Online.

One X user posted: “Wonder why the last-minute change and no Vicky.”

Another added: “Unusual to not have the departed couple on it takes two of a Monday. Legit can’t remember this occurring before.”

A third viewer commented: “You mean I just spent the last half an hour rushing to get Vicky’s stats breakdown done and they’re not even on #ItTakesTwo tonight?!” whilst another fan observed: “Odd Vicky and Kai aren’t there.”

While the Geordie personality hasn’t yet explained her absence from the programme, it appears her no-show might be related to birthday festivities.

Vicky reposted content on her Instagram stories showing her blowing out candles on a birthday cake whilst surrounded by family and friends.

On Sunday evening, BBC audiences witnessed Vicky in the dance-off alongside her professional partner Kai Widdrington, facing elimination against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon.

Both couples were required to perform their routines once more in a bid to secure their place in the competition and progress to next Saturday’s Blackpool week.

Unfortunately, the result meant Vicky’s departure from the programme as she reflected on her journey with host Tess Daly.

She said: “It was so lovely while it lasted, and I’ve had the nicest time. I knew this week was a difficult one for me, and I tried my hardest, as I have every week.

“Listen, I didn’t think I’d get past week one,” she insisted. “And I’m really honoured to have shared this experience with so many amazing people. Mostly with this fella right here.”

Addressing Kai directly, she added: “You’ve been the best partner a girl can ask for. I’m so sorry I didn’t get you to Blackpool, but I feel like I’ve won just by having you as my partner, and I’m so grateful.”

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
