The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are hunting a black coloured SUV that collided with the pair as they left St Bernard’s Primary School, onto the Antrim Road, in Glengormley, North Belfast

Two youngsters have been struck in a shocking hit-and-run incident as they were leaving from a primary school.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) are searching for a dark-coloured SUV that smashed into the children as they exited St Bernard’s Primary School onto the Antrim Road in Glengormley, North Belfast.

The collision occurred at 8am today (November 17) as the pupils made their way towards Belfast city centre.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and urging any motorists who may have been travelling through the area with dashcam footage of the vehicle, or anyone who saw the incident unfold, to contact police on 101 quoting reference number CC2025111700242.

Social media users have demanded the SUV driver surrender themselves to authorities, reports the Mirror.

One commented: “Hope they do the right thing and come forward. This is awful.”

Another added: “Shouldn’t be too hard to find them if they were dropping kids of themselves. How anyone could drive off is beyond me.”

The incident comes as some children were poisoned at a UK school in Oxfordshire.

Three kids have been rushed to hospital after being poisoned with a chemical from a school lab. The horror unfolded at Lord William’s School in Thame, Oxfordshire.

The students from the secondary school were taken to hospital after being poisoned with diluted Copper Sulphate, according to the school. The three children have been released from hospital after the incident which took place last week.

It is believed a child and a group of classmates had been deliberately adding copper sulphate to their water bottles as they were attracted to the colour of the compound following a science lesson.

Speaking on Monday afternoon, headteacher Neil Dimbleby said: “Three students stayed in hospital overnight having ingested diluted Copper Sulphate that had been taken from a laboratory

“The police were informed and have been supporting us through this incident. We are pleased to report that the students are all now safely at home.”
