A man with a micropenis has bravely shared the pain of how a woman he had ‘proper feelings for’ reacted to his dinky manhood as men worry more and more about not being big enough
Experts believe more blokes are nervous about the size of their manhood than ever before. The panic appears to stem from the glamourisation of pornography, the pressures of social media, and how gym culture affects body image.
Young men are now seeking so-called penis-filler cosmetic surgery in record numbers, even though most of them are packing more than a microtodger. An actual micropenis is extremely rare, affecting only 1.5 in 10,000 male newborns in the US, according to MedicalNewsToday. Just 0.6% of the world’s population are affected. There are no stats for the condition in the UK.
A micropenis is a manhood shorter than 1.9 cm at birth or 7.5 cm as an adult. The condition could be caused by a number of scientific reasons, such as a lack of testosterone.
Men with the condition have bravely opened up in recent times, sharing their struggles in everyday tasks and sexual encounters. A 26-year-old recently told Joe Santagato and Greg Dybec’s podcast, Other People’s Lives, about the brutal response from a woman he was dating when she found out about his modest manhood.
He knew he was different as a child, he said. The impact as he was growing up and venturing out into the dating world meant he’d often “cut” that aspect out of his life. Feeling “nervous and scared”, he was afraid of being rejected by potential partners.
He told the podcast: “That’s how it was for a long time. Still is, to be honest”. He wasn’t able to get into deep relationships for years and then. Then, when he finally got to the stage of being intimate, it didn’t go to plan.
He revealed his micropenis to a woman who he had “proper feelings for”. While she tried to be nice about it, he could tell it was difficult for her.
“She knew it was terrible, which she tried her hardest not to tell me. But she’s an honest person as well, and I could tell… I don’t blame a woman for thinking, ‘I don’t want this.’ I don’t blame that at all.”
While their intimate relationship fizzled, they remain friends, he said. But he was scarred by her comments when they were watching a film and a sexual scene popped up on screen. She said: “Oh, I’m scared now, I’m nervous.”
The comment hit his confidence. She’d never dealt with a situation like this, he said, so the topic was seemingly in her head. “She’s scared, and I [start] to feel bad for them,” he said. He struggled to address her comment and the relationship ended “pretty badly”.
But a micropenis isn’t always a recipe for dating disaster. An English couple recently revealed their perfect sex life despite the bloke’s manhood measuring just 2.8 inches.
Penny Talbot, 33, said her boyfriend of two years, Jake Timms, 36, is the total package, even if his mates compare his mini member to a piece of dental floss.
