The devastating injuries suffered by a British mum in a taxi crash have been revealed. Lauren Holmes, 27, is still being treated in intensive care after being run over alongside her friend Ebony Cordingley, 26, on the last night of their holiday.

In a heart-breaking update shared by Lauren’s pal Tyla Gray, the full extent of Lauren’s injuries were revealed. The mum-of-two broke several bones but is “conscious but very confused”.

The GoFundMe update read: “I just want to start by saying thankyou for the support we are so overwhelmed by all the love pouring in.

“Lauren is currently still in the intensive care unit… We now know she has two broken legs, a broken arm, broken ribs, a fractured spine and a punctured lung.

“She is conscious but very confused and sleepy with all the medication she is on. She will be receiving surgery within the next couple of days when she is stable enough.

“We are un sure on what the road a head looks like for Lauren at this time and will continue to update everyone on here as and when we can. Please continue to support us in this tragic time as we navigate the new reality of what’s to come.

“Thank you so much again everyone, we may not be getting back to everyone right now but nothing is going unnoticed.”

The GoFundMe page has so far raised just under £5,000 but Lauren’s family say the costs of flying her home could sky rocket to £32,000. Readers can donate here.

It comes as Ebony has left intensive care but remains in “severe pain”.

Her brother Kyle Marsden said: “Ebony is now stable and has been taken out of ICU. She is awake and has eaten, yet she is still in tremendous pain but thankful to be alive and eager to see her boys.”

He added: “The road ahead will no doubt present further challenges, but without your generous help and support, we would truly be lost.

“On behalf of our family, thank you so much from the depths of our hearts.” Ebony’s fundraiser has reached £4,535 of a £4,500 target. Donations can be made here.
