A pensioner who disappeared on the Costa del Sol before his flight back to Manchester has been located, according to an emotional update from his daughter. Former property mogul Clifford Wildgoose had been on holiday with a solicitor pal in southern Spain and was supposed to catch a flight back to Manchester on Sunday (September 21), but concerns were raised when he went missing.

Clifford, originally from Ashton-under-Lyne in Tameside, was last seen at around 2am on Saturday morning at Patrick’s 19th Hole Bar, in the upmarket resort of Puerto Banus, near Marbella.

He’d only nipped over to Spain for the weekend, but failed to show up at Malaga Airport for his return journey.

His daughter, Melanie Hall, said she was ‘beside herself with worry’, reports the Manchester Evening News.

She had previously revealed that Clifford’s pals hadn’t heard from him and that he didn’t reach the departure gate in time for his flight.

In a recent development, Melanie shared a touching public message on Facebook confirming that Clifford had been discovered in the Puerto Banus area following a public appeal.

Thanking the public for sharing the news, she posted on Sunday evening: “Just to let everyone know literally five min ago received a call from a kind gentlemen in Puerto Banus who was walking past and recognised my dad from the social media posts, he is now safe and with the police but will need some hospital treatment.

“Thank you to everyone social media worked its magic I can’t thank you all enough.”
