Donald Trump and Melania Trump were filmed having a heated exchange on the South Lawn on Wednesday night, with a lip reader now revealing what was said between the pair
A lip reader has revealed precisely what was said between Donald Trump and Melania Trump after clips of the couple having what appeared to be a heated discussion went viral.
Remarkable footage emerged showing the US President and First Lady engaged in a finger-pointing conversation through Marine One’s windows on the South Lawn on Wednesday evening.
The clip spread like wildfire across social media platforms, drawing parallels to the astonishing moment when Emmanuel Macron received a push from Brigitte back in May.
Throughout the interaction, Trump gestures with his finger whilst Melania shakes her head, with lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman deciphering what he believes was said.
Jeremy reckons Trump was discussing the “escalator-gate” drama from the United Nations General Assembly earlier this week, rather than directing his annoyance at his spouse’s actions.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jeremy believes Melania stated: “You just continued…” with Trump responding: “It was unbelievable.”
Melania then fired back: “Just say it and leave it..” Looking utterly bewildered, Trump then responded: “How can you do that…” Shortly afterwards, the influential pair disembarked from the helicopter and strolled across the grass hand-in-hand.
The incident involving a faulty escalator at the UN General Assembly in Manhattan saw Trump recounting on Truth Social: “It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first. It was only that we were each holding the handrail tightly or, it would have been a disaster”.
Trump was furious about it and White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said an investigation had been launched. Speaking to Fox News, she said: “If we find that these were UN and staffers who were purposefully trying to trip up, literally trip up the president and the first lady of the United States, well, there better be accountability for those people. And I will personally see to it.”
And after the incident she wrote on X: “If someone at the U.N. intentionally stopped the escalator … they need to be fired and investigated immediately.”
Earlier this year, Trump had some words of wisdom for the Macrons after a video of Brigitte playfully slapping her husband, French President Emmanuel Macron, on an aircraft went viral.
Fox News reporter Peter Doocy posed the question to Trump: “There was a video of the First Lady of France slapping her husband, Emmanuel Macron. Do you have any world leader-to-world leader marital advice?”
“Make sure the door remains closed,” he responded. “That was not good. I spoke to him. He’s fine. They’re fine.
“They’re two really good people. I know him very well, and I don’t know what that was all about. But I know him very well, and they’re fine.”
